An Ovion from TOS BSG(Battlestar Galactica), it looks like an intelligent bug, though you don't want to know what it feeds it's young with... Fortunately they're extinct, as the planets tylium mine(which was on fire, the tylium that is) blew up the planet they lived in and the explosion took out a nearby Cylon Basestar that got too close to the planet(it had no fighters anymore since they'd all been destroyed already, it was trying to hide behind the planet) thanks to Lt.Starbuck and Capt Apollo imitating two whole squadrons of Viper fighter spacecraft.
