I went to my PC and saw he made a 'self reboot'. All icons on the Desktop are new repositions, all are now on the left side. In the system tray I have an new icon of Adobe Reader, a new update is available and I should download it. Maybe this animated my PC to a 'self reboot'? IIRC, I set all updates should be only shown, no automatically download or installation. OK, but .. I started BOINC again .. In the 30th line of tab/messages is now: SETI@home - [error] no project URL in task state file I opened all slots/N and opened all boinc_task_state.xml files and there is: <active_task> <project_master_url>http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/</project_master_url> <result_name> ... - so what's the problem? Thanks. * Best regards! :-) * Philip J. Fry, team seti.international founder. * Optimize your PC for higher RAC. * SETI@home needs your help. * |

A 'self reboot' can lose some data which should have been written to disk, so if it happened just while BOINC was setting up a new active task the boinc_task_state.xml file might have been created but without any content yet. Whether the file has a <project_master_url> is the first thing checked, if it's missing no further checks are done and the error you saw is printed. That's my best guess at what happened. Joe |
