for some reason boinc is not and will not send me more work, why is this? I have it set correctly in the setting for new tasks but still it wont send me any work.

What is BOINC Manager reporting in the Event Log? You can find the Event Log in the Advanced drop-down menu or by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+E. You can copy the first 20-30 messages here if you'd like us to assist you in interpreting what is happening.

You selected only to receive 'SETI@home Enhanced' tasks which are only resends (end-of-life, no new tasks of this kind are generated).
'SETI@home v7' is the name of the new tasks.

Make sure to select to receive other types of tasks, not only 'SETI@home Enhanced':

SETI@home v7: yes
AstroPulse v6: yes
If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? yes
