Why now??

The Government Now Admits There's an 'Area 51'

Newly declassified documents, obtained by George Washington University's National Security Archive, appear to for the first time acknowledge the existence of Area 51. Hundreds of pages describe the genesis of the Nevada site that was home to the government's spy plane program for decades. The documents do not, however, mention aliens.

Why not? The government has always denied the existence of it's military bases that are conducting top-secret testing. Nearly everyone on Earth knows about Area 51, so they might as well officially announce it. I suspect they'll be moving all the top-secret stuff to another location, however.

The article posted will be the last. The CIA, will never again mention Area 51.
Yes, your are right the good stuff. Moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Sorry, just don't trust our government.

Nor do I. But distrust doesn't correlate to hiding aliens.

Did I say aliens? If so sorry bout that. Of coarse it's okay to burn their employees, with toxic chemicals.

I think Jonathan Turley, tried to sue area 51.

No, you didn't mention aliens in your last post, but you did mention it in your initial post.

UFO's over Area 51 were top secret U2 spy plane trials, most of us have always known it was something like that. All that has happened is that the USA has "officially" admitted the existence of the base, which cannot be denied anyway, but still kept back details of what went on, or does go on there. If they have done this then you can be fairly sure that the really top secret stuff is now being done elsewhere.

Why do you think that stuff will be done elsewhere it's not much smaller than the state of Connecticut.

The area I quoted was for the whole of the Nevada Test and Training Range in which Area 51 is situated.

In that case that is 4,531 sq miles. Should have made yourself clearer ;-)

Hmmm... it is common to enclose such things in quote tags so as to not confuse your readership, lest they think the words are your own.

Naturally. Should the government tell the world its secrets? I'm all for transparency, but even I know that secret projects are secret for a reason. Still, the thought process that the government isn't telling us everything doesn't automatically translate into hiding evidence of alien visitations.

Well, almost everyone! ;-P I prefer to find the data rather than join a conspiracy. Unfortunately, in that regard, I seem to be in the minority.

None of this is news.

The USA government has acknowledged the existence of Area 51 a decade ago.

This story is a non-story.

The confusion comes from the fact that it was declassified information released regarding various spy planes and it mentioned 'Area 51' as a test site.

None of this is new to public at all.

It does seem more like journalistic licence.
