Hey Everyone,

Another strange occurence for today. One of my trusty laptops has thrown a succession of 5 errors in a row today, all ERR_TOO_MANY_EXITS. Shown Here.

This is the first error I think this machine has produced in almost a year. Did it over heat? Anything to worry about, unless it continues?

That's right:) I learned this one the hard way too.
Links with "userid" in the address don't work for the rest of us. It has to be a "hostid" address.

I wonder why those CPU tasks were run as "USE_SSSE3 x86" instead of "USE_AVX x86" and if this may have something to do with your problem.

Some of them are CPU tasks, and I told lunatics to use SSSE3. On the surface, this makes sense to me. Am I wrong on that?

Re-run the installer as it should have picked the best application by default to suit your CPU, which should've been the AVX application, as that is what your CPU is best at.

As to your 1 similar GPU result it seems to have occurred at the same time as the CPU tasks.

So did you have some other program running at that same time that the 4 CPU & 1 GPU tasks all errored?

On his rig he is running Win7 without SP1, so he can't use AVX.

This is a laptop that I also use regularly, so I could have had any number of programs running at the same time.

As for why I don't have SP1 installed for win7... well... that is a good question! I should look into that...

Your two cards are on two different platforms, using two different Apps, with two different APRs. That is not what is causing those errors.

The ATI Multibeam Apps have a history of producing TIME_LIMIT_EXCEEDED errors, the cause is still a mystery. Another mystery is why it gives the error on tasks taking 15000 secs but passes tasks taking 18000 & 22000 secs. Again, this is not new, I've seen pages of Failures with a few Successes mixed in taking the same amount of time as the Failures. You shouldn't receive that error unless the task is over 10 times as long as the APR suggests. In your case, that would be around 36000 seconds, not 15000. There is a reason I only use that App when I can't find an AstroPulse.

Your tasks do seem to be longer than expected, the 7770 should finish an AP in about an Hour, not close to 3 hours. Are you running with One Free CPU Core? It's the only idea that comes to mind. Set the Multiprocessor setting to use 90% of the Processors, if you haven't already.

I recall recently adding -sbs 256 for an MB text file in the same directory, from someone's suggestion. (mb_cmdline_win_x86_SSE_OpenCL_ATi_HD5 was the name of the file).

ATIs are very effective for AP

Using AMD Radeon HD 6570 (OCed to 800/1050 which makes it ~ HD 6670)
running 2x AP tasks (<count>0.5</count>) finishes ~0% blanked task in 4 h
(so 2 AP tasks in 4 h = 2 h/task effective time)

I have, but thanks for pointing it out again just in case. I'll have to read over it again, the first time it left my head spinning :)
