An hour and a half to go, and Commodore Anders and his teams will return to the U.S.S. Andromeda BDC-9777-3.

Here's a pic of your ship...

Ascendent it isn't.

That's pretty close to how I designed her; however, there are differences between my Andromeda and that pic. My Andromeda has a complete flight deck in each hull for medium heavy starfighters. 40 starfighters in the primary hull, and 40 in the secondary hull. She also carries two Antimatter Assault Guns, one in the saucer, and one in the secondary hull. These guns can be fired forward or aft of each hull. These guns drain antimatter directly from the Warp drive from each hull. Like Enterprise D, the saucer can separate from the secondary hull. Unlike Enterprise D, each hull is Warp capable. (See third nacelle on saucer section.)

I could be wrong; but I'm guessing that a Constitution class vessel, (the size of a WWII Aircraft Carrier), is equivalent to the size of the Galactica, and my Andromeda is twice that size, or equivalent to a Pegasus class Battlestar. Feel free to correct my assumptions, if I'm in error.

The one pictured above? Nope, it's a modified Galaxy class ship with 3 warp nacelles, similar to an episode in the Next Generation that involved Q I believe, the One that Riker was commanding...

Oh and I've never heard of fighter craft in Star Trek.

I did say she was my design, I came up with this idea in 1982; and , drew schematics and diagrams based from the Starfleet Technical Manual on the Dreadnought class vessel.

Most of the stuff you added on would if the series were real violate several StarTrek treaties, like having a cloaked ship that can pass thru matter(that was in a Next Generation episode that didn't involve Q or the Borg, just an Admiral that made a secret treaty breaking starship, the USS Pegasus NCC-53847, the officer got arrested for that, the technology wasn't used again as no one wants to materialize in solid matter if the ship came back in phase with normal space, and that did happen to a smaller ship that was used for the initial testing during the experiment), by going slightly out of phase with normal space. I do like Star Trek and scifi in general, but then I've been a fan since the series started in the 60's.

I do agree with you on the phased cloak; however, there is nothing in Federation law nor Starfleet regulations that states a Dreadnought cannot carry starfighters... In fact, after Next Gen, there was another Starfleet manual that discussed new ship designs, and one specifically IS a carrier with fighters. I just beat them to the punch by designing my Dreadnought in 1982. I just wasn't sure of the size differential between the Battlestars and Starfleet ships. Like I said in my earlier post, I'm guessing that since a Constitution class cruiser is the size of a WWII Aircraft Carrier, that my Dreadnought would be twice that size. If my Dreadnought is twice that size, I'm guessing it is close in size to the Pegasus class Battlestar; but, I could be wrong...

Yeah, I was just pointing that out, it was mentioned briefly and I guess for some reason it was dropped, even though in one episode of the NG they did have some craft that could have been fighters, but that was as far as it went.

The Battlestars had varying capacities as they are not all the same, a NOVA Class can carry the most fighters and a Columbia Class the least(in the series at least), the Galactica has 80 Viper fighters(F16's are nicknamed Vipers I read), the Mercury 200 and the NOVA 500-510 Vipers(some are reserves), as it says in the BSG wiki.

As to sizes, Here are two pics with the length of each type mentioned, link1 and Link2. And yes a Battlestar is bigger than any Starfleet ship shown on TV or the movies at 1265M to at least 1790M, the largest listed Starfleet vessel is less than 700M by comparison(so far as I can find and there's a lot of ships in these pics), Oh and a Star Wars Super Star Destroyer is bigger than anything...

Why do I always do actual work on Tuesdays, forgetting that it's outrage day?
