There are six posts on this board alone stating the same problem about getting the email from SETI to activate their account. If they would all click on "I also have this question" it would make the problem/question stand out. Also, in one of the many other threads about this problem on one of the other boards the devs have indicated they know there is a problem and are working on it.

Bill,

Not to pick nits here but if there is a posting by an admin saying that they are working on an issue, where is it? Why isn't it listed in the NEWS, TECHNICAL NEWS or SERVER STATUS sections on the main page?

I don't have the time to read 1,000 posts to find one that is current on one board just to add a ME TOO. The ones I saw listed were at least several weeks old or pointed to a different line number.

Most of us are new to BOINC or we wouldn't be having this discussion. Have a litte compassion. Instead of bitching and whining, offer helpful suggestions and pointers to solutions.

Thanks for your time and enjoy your weekend.

Absolutely!!!

Bill...if the SETI Boinc message boards had a search facility...maybe it wouldn't be so time consuming to sift through messages for a specific problem...it might prevent redundant postings...and as Greg said...I'm new at Boinc too...so I didn't have a clue where to look or post the problem...I went to the Windows Q&A board on 9 Dec...read through a few of the most recent posts...didn't see anything relating to the problem...sorry to have irritated you...

Later...

Looking for a "Search" function?

Have a look in the Questions and problems just under the title "Questions and problems."

You will see "Do a keyword search of messages."

When you hit the "Keyword search" you will get the search function as you wanted to have it.

BTW: there is also a keyword search function in the "Message board" forum.

Ooops...I see it now...thanks for that...I was always looking at the thread list level for the search function...not the topic list level...doh!

Sorry...
