Next year in Formula1 the engine spec is changing, this is CNN explanation

While a standard engine is powered by a belt connected to the crankshaft, a turbo engine runs on its own exhaust steam, making it more energy efficient.

No longer will F1 circuits roar with the sound of standard 2.4-liter V8 engines -- referring to their eight cylinders. Instead, they'll be fitted with 1.6-liter V6 turbo-charged units, in line with the new F1 rules.

I lost interest in F1 racing a long time ago.

My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events.

I still remember the roar of supercharged engines at Imola in 1983.

On these forums, the F1 rocket engine was the first thing that came to my mind also...

Then switch to a different context...

Ouch. That is so farcical as to be eye-wateringly painful. No wonder the USA is sinking fast!

I guess they'll just have to pray to God and our Robert Stephenson for their salvation!!

Can journalists really be that ignorant of any and all facts?!
