August is obviously anti Britain month. Now France is stepping up watch on British drivers.

Maximum speed on motorway is 130km/h (80 mph)
On-the-spot fine of 90 euros if driver goes up to 40km/h over limit
If speed breaks limit by more than 40km/h, police can seize car and demand 750-euro fine
Driver must have a reflective jacket and warning triangle in car - fine can be 90 euros if either is missing

French checking British drivers

It's not all as bad as it seems. Five of my work colleagues last month spent a
week touring France, with their motorbikes, plus wives. The only time they
had any face on contact with the police there was because one of police officers
was a motorbike enthusiast himself. During discussions with this officer it
turned out that they did not need to carry their own breathalyser kits with
them on their bikes because carrying them never became law.

So have I & many times at that. Not once had I a bad experience. Unfortunately I've had more nastiness from our own police & the VOSA jobsworths!

Unfortunately they are here, at least for HGV's. There are some sites that on arriving, no hi-vis, no entry simple as that.
