An exclusive rich man's club that tries and or thinks it can control the world.

If it were truly sinister and acting out we would all know by now I think.

It certainly seems to include all the worlds "movers and shakers" in it. I find it slightly comforting that they think Ed balls is worth inviting, that means they aren't worth taking too seriously. Nevertheless ......

Them which accompanies The Secret Rules of the World. Read the book, watch the TV series then decide whether you think groups like Bilderberg are worth losing sleep over.

The episode on Bohemian Grove is my favorite, but then I find Alex Jones amusing when he's not harassing family members of 9/11 victims.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

n 2009 the group hosted a dinner meeting at the Ch√Ęteau of Val-Duchesse in Brussels on 12 November to promote the candidacy of Herman Van Rompuy for President of the European Council.[21]

I found the above most interesting especially so since the article quoted the
organisations desire to create world communism and Hermon Van Rompoy is an
ardent communist himself???

I noted that the UK prime Minister and Chancellor, and other UK politicians are Members or get invited. If it was that secret what they get up to I wonder if the membership would be publicly known. Those who are there are probably amongst the most influential in the world, and in turn probably have the best advisors money can buy. If they see a trend developing it probably is doing so, and that knowledge could be useful in shaping foreign policy.

In 2001, Denis Healey, a Bilderberg group founder and, for 30 years, a steering committee member, said: "To say we were striving for a one-world government is exaggerated, but not wholly unfair. Those of us in Bilderberg felt we couldn't go on forever fighting one another for nothing and killing people and rendering millions homeless. So we felt that a single community throughout the world would be a good thing."

That to me sounds very much like a secret world government, despite their denials. Shades of the Man from U.N.C.L.E. come to mind. Now who should we class as THRUSH? Or even James Bond's SPECTRE?

You may say that now but there's every chance you may change your tune in years
to come. The EU and Brussels is just the start of it and they don't intend to
stop there!!...no room for complacency just stay on your toes.

I think that the EU is the grandest experiment in social/economic/political cooperation.
I'm counting on them evolving till we encompass the World and all people.
Obviously the UK, USA, and even smaller countries like Canada will have to make sacrifices, but it's worth it to see the less fortunate majority of Humanity thrive.
The UK has fallen so dramatically in the last century that you should be used to a little sacrifice.

If I thought you were worth the effort I would have a pop back. With an RAC of 1 I think we can all see your commitment and real interest around here. Go and catch some fish then, do something useful for a change, what a novelty that would be.

No messages intended to annoy or antagonize other people, or to hijack a thread.

Correct and quite right too. Posts that may irritate a bad tempered poster are currently allowed, within reason.

Historically the name refers to the Bavarian Illuminati, an Enlightenment-era secret society founded in 1776 to oppose superstition, prejudice, religious influence over public life, abuses of state power, and to support women's education and gender equality. It was outlawed and disbanded in 1785. In the several years following, the group was vilified by conservative and religious critics who claimed they had regrouped and were responsible for the French Revolution.

They probably owned a chain of cake shops.

Still have more Seti Credits than you.
With 24000+ posts you have used a lot of words and said little more than "I'm miserable".
I guess i could join Moo! Wrapper and pump out 337,000,000 credits but my Timex Sinclair 2068 is in storage. Would that be something useful in your estimation?

It wasn't meant to target, just show your "silly" statement regarding committment. An RAC of 1 versus an RAC of 13,101 yet........

Oh do be quiet Sirius, with your TC of only 1,294,110.

This is intended tongue-in-cheek, though probably won't be taken that way.
