Please STOP rescheduling AP tasks from CPU to Gpu.

You are doing it wrong.

We all can do that and take 500 AP tasks but this is not the right way.

I post this message in public, because I already PM him and he discard me.

Maybe if somebody remember him when he rescheduling the WU he receive a lot less credit for each processed WU, he stop´s to think about...

But i´m not sure if it´s only rescheduling what he does... only one of his caches has allready 472 AP WU in progress, even with rescheduler the 100CPU+100GPU limit still in place, so in theory you can´t have more than 200 WU in progres on a single host, or i´m wrong? Maybe he could share with us who he manage to bypass the limits too.

You are wrong, this is how he does it, and how it works:

Thanks for the info, living and learning.

Anyway he (and the wingmate) still receive a lot less credit per crunched WU and mess with the RAC of a lot of volunteers, that realy not good for anyone.

No, he really should stop, or be stopped from doing that. It really screws up the credit scheme for AP.

I don't think one person can screw up credit that much, but personally I wouldn't mind AP starting to pay less - bring them closer to MB.

Or bring MB credit back to what it was before MB v7.

I like that...

I PM'd this person several times before SETI V7 (even in Chinese) while their GTX6xx rigs were throwing errors everywhere and they didn't answer then so I wouldn't expect them to reply now.

Fred (and others) should really think about a "contact home" in newer app's so if 1 goes dodgy it can be easily disabled from future use.

Cheers.

Just a thought for the region was all (usually most people in S.E. Asian countries have a basic understanding of standard Chinese), but I've had replies from other members in non-English regions asking for translations at least for their country (they did reply though and I replied back). The person either just ignores PM's, or doesn't visit the site so doesn't know about them, or just plain doesn't care. ;-)

Cheers.

And he is still doing it. He has 700 tasks at one pc, and 600 to the other.

Hey man… contact the admins and ask if they can send AP tasks only to your rigs. :-)

The person has just upgraded their 3rd CUDA rig to the latest apps, Computer 6943516 (they'll likely do the same with this 1 too), luckily their other 3 rigs don't show GPU's and they havn't updated the apps on them yet to accept the latest SETI versions either even though they still contact the server.

But this person does deserve a "kick in the butt".

Cheers.

Whether or not it's "right" to reschedule tasks from CPU to GPU, our friend seems to put lie to the claim that rescheduling results in lower credits for themselves and the wingman.

I've just compared the credits he has earned from the tasks that he has moved from CPU to GPU with my legitimate AP GPU units and, allowing for the usual spread due to "Credit New" there is little difference. My average credit per AP unit is around the 600 to 700 mark, with units varying from a couple of hundred to around 1,800.

Going back through MTOS.PDN's scores, his average credit per unit and credits for "outrider" units compare very favourably with mine.

I have suspected for some time that the "Rescheduling gives lower credits" claim was an " SAH Urban Myth" so I have been watching carefully for some months. With the old multi-beam units, the claim was definitely false. If anything, with low AR units (i.e. < 0.2), it improved the credits. I had rescheduled units score anything up to 260, which was over twice what the expected credit was and you all would have to agree that 260 for a V6 MB unit was an exceptional score.

If you're going to beat someone around the head for rescheduling, at least do it on a factual basis not on an unproven myth.

T.A.

PS I'm not saying there were cases where units moved CPU to GPU scored low, BUT I am saying that for every unit that scores low there is one that scores high and on average it makes no difference.
