Message 1428511 - Posted: 14 Oct 2013, 16:06:00 UTC - in response to Message 1428403.

I see that Victor has not yet learned how to size down his pics to an acceptable level.

That particular one is 900px × 597px it would be better at 640 x 480. When I go onto Photobucket I size mine at 800x600 and if they look too big, I drop them back to 640x480. I try to get them so that they size about 6" x 4" on the screen. That covers old 17" CRT's and modern 16:9 flat screens.

I think some of the problem is Vics eyesight, which is why he has a 5ft wide TV, they probably look OK to him on his big monitor.

For most places that I post, I size pics at 1200 x 800 and it fits fine.

Of course I also keep my monitor at 1920 x 1280.

I still have to deal with people who link to 3000 x 2400 though.

My TV is 57", the computer uses a 20" monitor, the max res is at 1600x900, since the threads width with a picture fits 1024 at most without breaking the thread, that's what I do since photobucket defaults to 1024 for My account, so how about please dropping this attitude towards Me? It stinks...

That ain't gonna happen. Not really a touchscreen lover here...I saw an android tablet in the shop though yesterday that only costs 60 euros. I was tempted to buy one just for beta testing...

Oi! d'ya think for one moment we'd fall for that one ....

As I said to Bill & Melinda only the other day, give me one free with Win 9, and I might, just might think about it.

There's a Win9 already?? Boy, these guys at Microsoft don't even take the time to breathe it seems...;))

MS is coming out with Win 9; because, sales of Win 8 are LOW!!! Everyone I talk to hates Win 8, and downgrade, (or want to downgrade), back to Win 7.

I know a couple of people in the market for new PC's because they want newer hardware and bigger hard drives; however, they hate Win 8. So, I've told them to go ahead and buy the new PC; and then, go to Amazon, and buy Win 7 Professional for $150.00 +/-... They can install Win 7 Pro over Win 8 and just wipe out Win 8 entirely. They seemed to like that suggestion.

True. I think XP is the best though. All hospitals and big companies still work with it over here. We would have worked with Win7 at work when the company changed ownership but they kept XP, works for me:)

According to Microsoft XP sp3 support is ending on April 8th, 2014, will that change? I don't know.

We migrated pretty much the entire school district over to 7 during the summer. They would have stayed with XP if support weren't ending.

All our cotton-grading machines run on Dell P4s with WinXP. We've had them since 2005, and they are SUPPOSED to be replaced next year (they've said for the past 2 years)....
