I just hope you get ahead of this problem. This year is not so bad for us but most years some sort of little bug gets the upper hand on all the others and the game is on. The first year it was carpenter ants, man thank God there is a simple fix for that one. Good luck with it. |

Well this is a two front war, on one it's the moths, on the other it's small black flying insects in the small bathroom/front door, once I get the caulk, I can win one with some caulk, the other? I called the park manager today, there was supposed to be someone coming over already to look at what could be done about the threshold under the front door, so far nothing. I'm surrounded, where's the artillery when ya need it? The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

On my canal boat there is the ever present problem of flying insects. This year I've been trying sticky traps. Thus far they have been quite effective as the inboard midge & mosquito population appears to be lower than previous years. The "best" catch to date is a couple of horse flies -thank goodness they succumbed to the traps before they decided I was feature in their next meal..... Have you tried moth balls? Or cedar? There are special cedar things that are made for closets. ~Sue~ |

I'm really missing raccoons in this thread .... Cute little buggers, I'm a bit of pain from a fall, I'll be ok, took 2 tylenol, skinned the right knee a bit(see thread #194 for a pic) and yes there is some swelling, I'm only going to get gas for the escort, the bank, a lender, the bank, Staters and then home today. Vons & the Home Depot can wait a day. Did I say that it hurts a bit? Only when I laugh, humor off then. ;) The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Ok since I can't post in the 194 thread, since I'm the current last poster, I'll post it here, the moths look like they're gone for good, as the caulk seems to be working, I did have two bugs this morning in the small bathroom, but the only way they could have gotten in was through one of the 2 window screens in the front room, the last rain may have washed away the spray I had on there, so I sprayed one of the screens and closed the other window, I'll see if that deters the bugs from coming in or not, as there is no food or water in here for them. Oh and the last rain cleaned My car off almost totally. Edit: I did see 1 moth, it was smaller, seems the cracks above the closet storage shelf may be allowing them in still, so in the morning, I'll need to use the step ladder to caulk those cracks, it does seem a bit cooler in there tonight though. It'll be nice to get a 12000btu window mounted a/c unit, as I keep having to turn off the swamp cooler as the neighbors car exhaust gets sucked into the house here, at least whenever She starts it up to go somewhere or when She comes home, it smells of unburned gas, Her car won't get smogged for at least 2 years, as it's a 2005-2010 KIA Optima LX and according to Her it uses a lot of gas, She just doesn't have time currently to fix it, but then She's a Mom to Her 3 kids. Even though Raccoons have no facial muscles to move expressions like we do, it is marvellous how a camera shot can show such emotions. Just like my posted picture a little back It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |

After having sealed the upper part of the closet against anymore moths and entry/exit by any heat, tried to do the lower left hand corner again, I found that I could only get the upper 1/3rd of the corner done, seems I've used up another whole tube, good thing I bought 2 tubes last time, but since My hand is hurting a bit, I'll start on the last or 4th tube on Sunday and I didn't see any moths since I went to bed last night...
