Update to something I believe I posted about several weeks ago:

I found an ooollllld package of Pepperidge Farm cookies (biscuits to you Brits, with delusions of grandeur) and opened it, only to find that it smelled horrible. As soon as I could, I dumped it outside for whatever critters may have been interested.

Well, most of them disappeared quickly, but a few were left untouched for weeks. Then last week, the last one mysteriously moved from a porch step up to the handrail right against the house. It's still there, but may have been nibbled at a little bit.

That instrument looks the "bee's knees"
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

I'd love to sit with it
for a bit.

I'd rather sit with a cold beer and hear a fine musician make it sing.....

Well from what I have seen and read(it should be here Thursday and my serious exploration of it will take some time to follow, as I continue to re-train very rusty fingers) The Line 6 Variax should do everything but make my coffee.. hopefully there is an upcoming software update for that. Honestly some of the things it can do are a bit frightening to someone used to playing with vintage guitars.

It might not be fuzzy and cute but it should be nice.

Thank you, everyone, for all of the wonderful raccoon name suggestions. Five surviving kits is the biggest litter I've seen! At this point I cannot tell any of the babies apart, with the exception of one who has particularly light fur. Pilar waited a very long time to bring her litter by and chances are I will still be confused as to which raccoon is which when the babies are weaned.

I have therefore decided that the names most suitable for this litter are James Sotherden's entry: "Who, What, When, Where, and Why".

The light furred raccoon will be Who, because he's on first... er... uh... I mean he (she???) was identified first.

And of course, now I can pretend that Eric is calling raccoons for me when I head outside with grapes and Eric, with hands raised dramatically to the heavens, exclaims "Why???!!! Why???!!! Why???!!!"

Definitely great names! I'll reserve "Oliver Klosov" for the next litter.

Thank you Angela for making me a godfather. From what I gather I am required to make sure they are brought up to be responsible raccoons. So in that regard I am scouring the internet looking for trash cans that are NOT raccoon proof for your entire nieghborhood up to a city block. I do hope that is satisfying for you:)

Listen buster, I'm crazy-busy-slammed the rest of the Fridays in August, but come September, I intend you re-educate regarding my royal pun nature.

Edit... Whoops! "... I intend to re-educate you regarding..."
(Must have had a little too much wine this evening.)
