I just got a new computer, running windows 8 on a HP Envy. I installed seti@home just fine, and at first it was running with no troubles. But something strange has happened in the last two weeks or so- when I sit at my computer to start doing something, the screen saver doesn't seem to be disengaging properly and leaves me with a blank screen. I have to open the task manager to get back to my desktop from seti@home every time- I don't have to end any task, just opening it gets the desktop back. I think this started happening right at a recent windows update install. At least its the only thing I can think of that might have started affecting it. This isn't a huge problem as seti@home does seem to be working just fine, as is my computer. But I am at least a little concerned that it might be having problems that I'm not aware of. And it is a mild annoyance. |
