funny how creaming LIBERAL at me and others isn't supposed to be an insult. I get it. It's ok to be some sort of crusader for...i dunno... the wealthy and call people by derisive names. Sadly, I'd rather be a liberal than an angry, incontinent, and impotent old man crying for vengeance. The old days of appartied in America are breaking down. Don't be surprised if one or more of your children befriend or date one of those people you hate. It's ok. you can rage and quite honestly we get it. We are trying to actually help you understand the changes not only in society but in everyones way of thinking. If you cannot change you will be left behind. or is it right behind either way. living your life looking back is no way to live.

Quite honestly I'd love to see the country running with the constitution as it was originally written. I'd even like to quiz a few of the delegates on what is happening now and if they really meant it to be and unbending set of rules that cannot and will not change through time. However we don't have the luxury of 13 colonies or 3/5's persons anymore so we have to run along the line that things are running pretty well for a 226 year old document.

Now back to spain. I thought my Don quixote mention was appropriate.

Did you buy it in Gibraltar?
I've heard you can get some real bargains there.

An interesting letter in the Daily telegraph today and i quote the final paragraph.

"If Spain wants to reopen the Ulrecht Treaty negotiations, it will need to argue
with the Netherlands, Italy, France and Portugal about parts of what those
countries have since regarded as theirs."

So it could be a case of win Gibraltar at the potential cost of returning, in the
process, a much-much larger percentage of Spanish land back to other countries.

It only needs a one or two of the aforementioned countries to tell Spain that
their watching this all very closely, with the view of resurrecting their own
claims against the Spanish. The result being "Case for claiming Gibraltar quietly dropped".
By the way, Gibraltar has been under the control of Britain for far longer than Spain, as a country, has existed.

Yep & you can take it to the bank that the Basques are watching this unfold very carefully indeed.

Spain had better stop & rethink this through, as sometimes, one does get what one wishes!

Ulrecht Treaty...

Fairly interesting document/s. Gibraltar amounts to a mere pinprick when
compared to other lands they gave up to other countries at that time.
One could construed that if Spain got back Gibraltar then their next move would
be against those other countries involved in the Ulrecht Treaty. Be careful
France, Portugal and the Netherlands for you could be next on their hit list.

Under the Treaty Britain also gained Minorca (the old spelling). Various battles
ensued over these Islands and finally we gave back Minorca to Spain under the
Treaty of Amiens. Well, if Spain wants to renegotiate the Ulrecht Treaty then
fair game to us we can ask to renegotiate the Treaty of Amiens in view of
gaining back Minorca from them.

This sure beats all, whatever was the Royal Navy thinking of? Got too politically correct? What happened to our history that they have to name a ship that closets a pile of mopheads?

I am sure that Captain Hugh Beard of the type 23 Frigate F237, HMS Westminster, would be delighted to receive Sirius's comments, that his ship, the second to be so named, is crewed by mopheads. I am happy to pass that on if he is busy.

With a total range of only 500 miles looks like the Argentines will have to
recommission one of their old aircraft carriers. How long will that stay afloat??
if we have another Falklands war.

..or even better, we pull out of the EU, force Spain to repay our share of the bailout received & watch their economy really hit the skids.

All that extra money back in our coffers rebuild our forces & have them exercise regularly in the Falklands...

Jod done & all those spanish senors will end up kissing their own butts.

Yes, in the former something about too many speeding tickets and it the latter a bad translation; the original reads 999 years. :)
