Tasks in progress from that page must include even those, since they are out in the field already. The fact that they will be sent out again, really doesn't make them any more in numbers, it will just take longer to finish those 14,481 tasks in progress, if some of them has to be sent out several times. Now at 12,716 and dropping faster than I expected. I wonder how long it will take? I'll go out on a limb and make a forecast of Sep 23 (either a runout or the project throws in the towel on a few leftovers.) PS That Project Status Page looks different today. Am I the only one? That page certainly looks weird. On the top-right corner there is a logout URL, but it does not have my account name in front of it. Tom

That page certainly looks weird. SETI does not actually use that page for status, they use this one. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html |

SETI does not actually use that page for status, they use this one. I realize that, we were just using the old Project Status page for the split between v6 and v7 mb. The totals are usually close. The page has straighted up on a refresh and looks normal now. Another Fred Support SETI@home when you search the Web with GoodSearch or shop online with GoodShop. |

29 Jul 2013, 9:27:09 UTC, and we have 11,812 left. The last countdown we had was with Astropulse v505. At the time, I did some linear projections to predict the date when the last one would disappear, but re-sends of the last few threw that out by several weeks, despite a database purge by the project administrators when there were 39 left. (As the numbers decrease, so does the linearity.) So, this time I will only say that the last one won't have been crunched before 9 August 2013 at 13:23 UTC, and probably quite some time after that! |

Well, since the new Lunatics optimized applications require SSE2 for MBv7, for me it will be goodbye SETI@home Enhanced, goodbye AthlonXP 2000+ and hello SSE2 capable Pentium 4 (which should be quite a bit faster from what I have seen, when I saw such CPUs as wingmen). The AthlonXP has got about 20 hours of work left, so unless it can get any new WUs before these are done, tomorrow about at that time or little later the P4 should start crunching, if I'll have the time to swap the hardware and complete the software installation (done already part of it). |

We did include stock for those few who don't have SSE2 or above? IIRC especially on the Athlon the optimised version was a no-go. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. Well, sure, I could run stock, but I have that P4 laying around and collecting dust since one or two years, so why not use it, specially as it will be faster than the AthlonXP, from what I have seen it will be about double as fast on Astropulse tasks, not sure how much on MB, but for sure not just little. Also with 1GB RAM I will have the possibility to have Rosetta as backup project. Actually I should have made that switch a lot earlier, would have completed more work that way, but since the machine worked without any issues, I wasn't in hurry to do that. |

My slowest machine has 40% complete on its last v6 task. With 10,216 remaining out in the field. One of my 2 servers did get 6 _3's yesterday and pumped them out in short order. However 2 of those 6 are against GPU's that returned very high spike counts. So I expect those two tasks will have to go out at _4's SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

..7549... It'll be good once these are all done and the database cleaned up as I'll be finally able to remove an old computer from my list. Cheers. |

Much slower. In the past week or so, the rate has slowed from around 1,000 per day to about 300 per day, and it's still declining. I think there are many many v6 results in "database limbo", and a manual purge is needed. If one looks at the valid SETI@home Enhanced tasks on any of the top hosts' machines, you will in many cases find several dozen such tasks. Computer 6716400 is a good example. |

hmm. The transitioner makes another check at original deadline, but even that has passed. There's a bunch where there was another replication even though the first was still out. Or though the first pair was valid. Looks like most of those are from the transition - didn't go quite that flawless then. Fair number of database oddities - yes, that will require a manual purge, but probbalt best to wait that most tasks have reported back in. We had that when AP v5 was phased out, a couple of tasks were stuck in the DB. We know of course that sometimes tasks get stuck that way, but the occurence is too low to show up in the normal course of things. Plus that migration resulted in a higher rate. Besides, that decline is pretty much as expected. With about a six week deadline we are now in the second round of extra replications. going to slow down to a trickle. 6,872 ... tick, tick, tick .... Getting just that much closer to the time that I can finally delete an obsolete computer from my list. Cheers. |

Actually out of my 26 remaining SETI Enhanced w/u's (across 3 rigs), 23 will need manual assistance to clear, which may mean there are way less than the actual number showing (maybe as few as 25% of those showing), so the end maybe closer than we can see. ;-) Cheers. |

6646 You would think these have been reissued by now and maybe they have been. But there's the chance they got assigned to drive by crunchers or part time crunchers or just some old and slow cruncher. "Life is just nature's way of keeping meat fresh." - The Doctor |
