System is up, but work generation is very limited- only 30/s & ready-to-send buffer is falling like a stone. Another hour or 2 at this rate & there will be no work ready-to-send. Grant Darwin NT |

You panic early 30/sec is enough to keep on top of the demand, remember lots of folks are restocking after about 12 hours of no downloads, and that will take a few hours to sort out. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

You panic early 30/sec is enough to keep on top of the demand Panic early & panic often. 30/s is only good when there aren't a lot of shorties about- even with the longer runtimes 30/s won't meet demand if there is a shorty storm. Given that the splitters used to be able to produce in excess of 45/s, AMD have just released a new video card, Nvidia will be releasing some more in response in a few months time, and people are actively working on optimisations to make better use of already existing hardware, now would be a good time to resolve work production issues before people are actually complaing about a lack of work. remember lots of folks are restocking after about 12 hours of no downloads, and that will take a few hours to sort out. Luckily that's already occured- the ready-to-send buffer has started to refill. Grant Darwin NT |

Transitioners are down, and splitting is non-existent. Hopefully, they're working on something. |

Transitioners are down, and splitting is non-existent. Hopefully, they're working on something. I was just thinking i'd spoken too soon- the ready-to-send buffer was climbing, but then the splitters died off again & it's on it's way back down. Grant Darwin NT |

Panic early & panic often. Now that we have a lot of bandwith and the database seems ok. Why not raise the ready to send buffer limit from 300000 to something like 500000 or 600000? That way we could do with a shorty storm. |

Server page is almost 2 hours behind as of now. Cricket looks OK though. |

Now that we have a lot of bandwith and the database seems ok. Why not raise the ready to send buffer limit from 300000 to something like 500000 or 600000? Better to fix the problem than bodge up a work around. As it is there are short (and very infrequent) bursts where WU production can hit as high as 180 WU/s. As long as it can do 40/s as a minimum then it will be able to meet even the highest levels of demand, at least for the next 12 months or so. Grant Darwin NT |

No posts in this thread within 3 days. There must be either a big stage of crunchers at the moment or a shorty storm going through as I type within the last hour there have been almost 58,000 results returned |

is there some particular reason this subject now asks for username & password, it never used to ;-) or is it just me? P. |

It seems that less than a hour there will be no WUs for scheduling... |

It seems that the splitters need a kick - there's information on the "tapes", but no WU's are being created... . Hello, from Albany, CA!... |

It seems that less than a hour there will be no WUs for scheduling... Hmmm. Right you are. There are tapes, and a bit of a shorty storm has drained the queue - but no sign of replacement activity. They can't all have got stuck at the same time, can they? |

And with the celebration of Halloween and a number of faith observances this weekend, staff might be a bit thin on the ground. |

I guess it's probably a disk space issue or something like this... Now 8 a.m. in Berkeley, hope anybody is going in the Lab to repair this stuff |
