don't know, but if all staff is attending that Seti conference as is told about on the front page I fear that work won't last through the weekend... Last Friday I complained too and suddenly tapes were loaded so maybe a positive jinx here from Holland all the way to California hahahaha |

The splitters can split just FINE..... That is, when they are not getting hung on certain datasets. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

If only the splitters were able to split as they once did. Eric told me that supposedly there was a program, script, whatever that was supposed to monitor the splitters and automatically restart them or whatever might be needed to fix things. He also admitted it is obviously not working. I suggested that it be revisited and refurbished, or that he conjure up a chron job to restart the splitters every 6 hours or so until the problem can be fixed. Dunno if he'll like either suggestion. I also suggested he provision another MB splitter or two. He did kick the splitters this afternoon, and said he would check on them an hour or so later to see how things were going. A few new datasets with some AP flowing are taking the edge off for now. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Gawd, the problems with a long term, poorly funded project. |

I also suggested he provision another MB splitter or two. There are presently 7 PFB splitters, but i can't remember the last time i saw more than 5 running. Having those running would at least help until they work out why the splitters get stuck & can come up with a fix. Grant Darwin NT |

Wonder what's up? I reported my completions and got replacement tasks when the project came up after the maintenance window, but now I'm getting "can't connect". My last successful connect was at 20:43 UTC, about an hour ago. Server Status page doesn't show a problem. I did that 'report and get replacements' shuffle twice in the last ten minutes. |

I'm also connecting now and got a lost task - remember those? The second one refilled my cache. Another Fred Support SETI@home when you search the Web with GoodSearch or shop online with GoodShop. |

Same here. Been just about an hour since a scheduler request got through. Uploads seem to be working OK, though. Had a similar hiccup this morning, but it seemed to clear on the 3rd try. Not tonight, though. |

Just had the same - all three of my crunchers are going to be chewing their toe nails before too long :-( Indeed looking at the crickets something fell off about 3 hours ago. Uploads are working OK, but reporting & downloads are dead. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
