You have an application name in your app_info.xml that isn't supported (any longer) and your app_info.xml misses the names for the currently active applications. ;-)

If your Tasks tab is empty, delete the app_info.xml file and reset the SETI@home project after a reboot.

Gundolf

I cannot find the app_info.xml file at all. I am running Mac OSX 10.8.4. Where would the file be?

It's in the projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu folder beneath your BOINC data folder. The path is shown in the BOINC event log after the restart of the client.
