I only use Seti@Home on my 2 computers, a third one soon to be hooked up. On my laptop when I scroll mouse over the icon in the title line I see a message saying 'network is suspended - user request.' I am days into a task that will take at least a week to complete (40 more hours left on my slower laptop). Will thi cause me a problem when I am finished and ready to upload? Is There something I can change on settings to have it always show that the network is active. As noted this is my smaller computer doing about 20-30 credits a day opposed to my deskop (always working) doing about 3300-3500 credits a day. Any help or informaation that this is not an issue is apprecitated. Ian Fraigun |

I only use Seti@Home on my 2 computers, a third one soon to be hooked up. On my laptop when I scroll mouse over the icon in the title line I see a message saying 'network is suspended - user request.'Check the Acivity Menu in BOINC Manager. See that the option "Network Activity Suspended" is not set. If the "based on preferences" option is checked, look at your network preferences to see if there's a problem (Menu path: Tools/Computing Preferences/Network Usage). Are you using Fred's Re-scheduler or BOINC Tasks? If you are using the 1st then uninstall it, if the 2nd then update it. Sorry but these 2 programs are known to cause the problems you are reporting (if you are not using either then just disregard this post). Cheers. |
