I tried but it couldn't find the BOINC data directory which, on this machine, is on the H drive. There doesn't seem to be a way to configure it. |

It seems they did some hard coding for the paths. You can get around this by making links. You need to make links for both the data & program locations I found. Here are the commands I used for my BOINC locations on D:\. mklink /j "C:\ProgramData\BOINC" "D:\BOINC_Data" Success message--> Junction created for C:\ProgramData\BOINC <<===>> D:\BOINC_Data mklink /j "C:\Program Files\BOINC" "D:\BOINC" Success message--> Junction created for C:\Program Files\BOINC <<===>> D:\BOINC I expect you may need to run command prompt as admin. I did not try it the other way as I always run command prompt as admin. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Blurf, its works here since 1 week... Better than BoincSpy However, I feel that accounting WU's resets each time you install a new version of BOINC Manager To be confirmed with the next... |

For Windows XP users - use Junction: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896768 Example in the middle of this page: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/ I'm not sure about the syntax, maybe: junction "C:\ProgramData\BOINC" "D:\BOINC_Data" junction "C:\Program Files\BOINC" "D:\BOINC" Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Where is the spirit? Has it perhaps become lost? |

Well I am one of those who have a different Windows setup, not everyone likes everything on the C: drive, tried the junction command but to no avail, I may come back and look at it on the next update. It does look nice though, as Sirius B has shown Regards Tazzduk |

Hi Ron, please download and install the latest SETIspirit release (v1.0.5) which now has support for non-standard boinc installations. Regards, Dirk SETIspirit Homepage |

Hi, as long as the boinc logfile <stdoutdae.txt> (located in the boinc data directory) isn't deleted, SETIspirit won't reset the WU's if a new version of the BOINC Manager is installed (upgraded). SETIspirit now works for me longer than 6 months and I never lost WU statistics even if I have installed a newer version of the BOINC Manager. If anyone has other experiences, please contact me and I will try to help :-) Best regards, Dirk SETIspirit Homepage |

Doesn't work for me. After installing I lost ALL my GPU WUs (computation error). Communication deferred for 24hrs BOINC 7.0.64 (x64) W7 x64 http://boincstats.com/signature/0/user/2449327/project/sig.png http://boincstats.com/signature/0/team/88019747/project/sig.png |

Seems to work for me. Do I need to leave it running for it to gather data? The Universe is not only stranger than you imagine, it's stranger than you can imagine. SETI@home classic workunits 1,405 CPU time 57,318 hours |

Doesn't work for me. After installing I lost ALL my GPU WUs (computation error). Communication deferred for 24hrs SETIspirit doesn't affect the BOINC Manager work or tasks at all because it simply does (from time to time) a read only access to various boinc log files. SETIspirit works completely independent from all BOINC processes. You can use it also as offline analyzer, there is no need to run SETIspirit all the time (e.g. starting SETIspirit once a day if the boinc tasks are paused) but this isn't needed. To find the real cause for this problem it's best to check the boinc logfile stdoutdae.txt and windows event logs at the time of the WUs lost. Thx. SETIspirit Homepage |

Seems to work for me. Do I need to leave it running for it to gather data? SETIspirit doesn't need to run all the time because it simply analyzes the BOINC log files to determine the count of calculated workunits. Unfortunately the BOINC client automatically deletes/overwrites old logfiles (stdoutdae.old), which prevents SETIspirit to recognize all calculated workunits. This happens automatically if the stdoutdae.txt file reaches 2 MByte: in this case the BOINC Manager copies the stdoutdae.txt file to stdoutdae.old which overwrites an existing stdoutdae.old file (this happens every couple of weeks). To avoid this, SETIspirit ia automatically archiving the stdoutdae.old file by appending it to stdoutdae.archiv and deleting the stdoutdae.old file. As SETIspirit needs only very low resources you can careless run it all the time. Thx. SETIspirit Homepage |

I don't know what wrong in SETIspirit but after install it my BOINC client works wrong. No run GPU tasks (computation error). No run V7 - no files. I must remove BOINC and install it again. http://boincstats.com/signature/0/user/2449327/project/sig.png http://boincstats.com/signature/0/team/88019747/project/sig.png |
