A strange thing happened on june the 16th.
Whole 3,900+ italian users earned a mere +188,555.50 credits compared with the usual one million and over score.
What happened then? We had no earthquake, tsunami, nuclear accident, meteor blasts, volcano eruption or widespread power blackout in Italy that day and yes, our hopeless Government was on holiday Sunday the 16th so we cannot blame them for that.
Was it all another unbelievable Credit New prodigy?

Something must be happening because 3 users suddenly appeared at the top computer list, with ‘’ in progress tasks’’ way over the 200 limit.

Number 3 – 6 and 14, the time I am writing.

Tim

Quite weird indeed!

All 3 computers are GenuineIntel QEMU Virtual CPU version (cpu64-rhel6) [Family 6 Model 13 Stepping 3], respectively with 12, 8 and 16 processors.
The O.S. is the same for them: Linux 3.3.4-5.fc17.x86_64, and all are associated with an Anonimus user.

These hosts were created a few days ago yet have too much credits and RAC already. If they were created by merging
hosts and transferring boinc data dir to a new (virtual) CPU to keep existing host ID, shouldn't the task lists be merged as well? There is no evidence of so many validated tasks (especially none for GPU at all). Just thousands and thousands of "in progress"...
Someone got mad?

Whois search point toward hosts located in Finland. No futher informations or evidence. However WU completion timeline doesn't show any "stolen day" connection with exaggerated validated and in progress task numbers. All three ID could even point to a single machine configured in different ways for testing purposes, so no answer to the weird stolen day happening to date.

Well, listening to a couple of mates at boincitaly.org, most italian crunchers were seaside on the beach, so.... no mistery at all.
