For some time I have been finding some Astropulse WU which was incrementing both "Remaining" and "Elapsed" times; e.g. the WU estimated to 26 hrs continues beyond 42 hrs and I have to abort it. I am running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 on Intel i7 CPU 3.2 GHz with ATI Graphics card.

Recently, I have noticed that this problem may be related to the PC reboot when the Astropulse WU has been suspended. Typically, before I install an upgrade of some application or do a backup, I set the BOINC to "Snooze" or close it completely when it is expected that a PC reset will be required. After the PC reset, and restarting BOINC (never automatically during startup), the problem with the previously running Astropulse WU(s) is detected.

This is a "feature" of some Astropulse work units, if they are "highly blanked" the time estimate will be very inaccurate, let them run to completion. I do a quick mental check to guess the expected time to run using the percent complete and duration, after about 25% I find this can be more accurate than the one the PC produces.

Thanks, Bob, for your advice, but I believe that there is a problem with some Astropulse 6.01 units. Most recent Work Unit which was originally estimated to 26 hours shows the following statistics:
Progress = 31.720% (the same value for the last 30 hours);
Elapsed = 43:12:02 (it keeps incrementing by about once in a second);
Remaining = 09:21:24 (it keeps incrementing about once in 4 to 5 seconds).

I am sorry but at this point I am aborting the WU calculations and removing Astropulse WUs from my downloads.

P.S.: If this information is useful, then I am using 50% of processors, i.e. 4, for SETI WUs.

I'm having a similar issue on the new seti 7 tasks. They all stop showing progress at about 20% and keep running.
