Ambient air cooling is all I got.
Two fans in the garage ceiling draw the hot air out and the cool air in through a window in the bathroom. They create quite a vacuum.

What is the Relative Humidity on the hot days?

In my cases i use 2-4 12" fans (the same used on the big PSU´s) depends on the combination of the GPUs, 2 on the 690 and 4 on the 590.

I think you mean 12 centimeters not 12 inches.

One summer my ac went out and it got 106 in my living room where my cruncher is and it kept on crunching no problem. The way I understand it if my computer uses 300 watts to crunch it is not the same as 300 watts of heat because all the electricity is being used not to produce heat but to crunch with some heat as a by product. Similar to a 100 watt incandescent light bulb produces more heat than 100 watt florescent bulb which produces no heat. They both use 100 watts electricity one produces heat and the other does not. Computes are much the same they do all kinds of stuff but their design is not to produce heat. A 1500 watt computer does not produce as much heat as a 1500 watt space heater.

Here, near Ft. Lauderdale Florida, 87 Degrees & 77 Humidity, and not REALLY summer yet. A/C basically 24/7 now.

Keep side panel off desktop and always cleaning kitty fur from desktop and laptops.

This is interesting. So Joe, you're saying that 100% of the power draw from the AC outlet feeding the cruncher is ultimately converted into heat? I always thought that things like motors for cooling fans absorb some of the electric to convert it to motion. Also, a 150 watt CPU would use some of that energy for computation. I realize that these are very small amounts compared to the heat energy dissipated to the ambient air.

My big cruncher uses a steady state draw of over 1600 watts. I can tell you that the heat given off is quite substantial and is likely pretty close to that number of watts.

Motors have bearings that get hot from friction. Every computation involves current flowing from transistor to transistor which generates heat

I have a 6 to 8 degree F in my room depending whether
or not the computer is off or on dunning S@H, winter
or summer.

It may be not enough for you to notice, but it all
still turns to heat eventually.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most if not ALL of the electric power used by a PC is converted into heat.

It's not the same as an engine turning a certain % of the gas' potential energy into mechanical energy and the rest goes to heat. In CPUs, the mere fact of moving an electron (to compute) produces heat, P = I^2 * R.

CPUs use energy to "produce" something logical, not energy based, ergo, all the power it consumes must go somewhere (hint: heat).
This boggled my mind the first time I read it, could someone expand on this?
