About a month ago I was given a cute little puppy to keep me company. We have bonded pretty well and she has developed a habit of expecting me to share my snacks with her. Earlier today, after getting home from grocery shopping I opened a bag of ChexMix and as sometimes happens the bag split allowing a good portion to spill to the floor. I swept up the spilled food and put it in her food dish. After sampling a few bites she went to her spot on the floor over an air conditioning vent and laid down. A few minutes later I started snacking on some of the unspilled mix which immediately got her attention and brought her over to where I was, expecting me to give up some of my snack. Even after I showed her where she had her own stash she ignored what was already given to her and demanded some of mine. Remind you of any humans you know? Hmmmmm. I was sure that someone would comment about why people always want what someone else has even if it is the exact same thing. I guess I was wrong. My dogs do the same when I am eating a sandwich or something. As I have 5 dogs a break up of the sandwich doesn't go far. The dog bonds with you as a dependent for resources, like food, company, play and security. Small children are the same. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |

Exactly...if Suz or I have a banana Abby is all over us--she loves them. If we put one in her dish she won't eat it-has to come from us. |

My Brother and I would give some french fries to a pair of dogs that lived with us, both wanted some from US, one dog was My Brothers and the other was My Nephews dog. I think Dogs just expect to be handed certain foods, the dogs loved the fries of course. Those were good times too. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Never met a dog that did not like a nibble here and there. Really, feeding table food is not good. Dogs thrive, on human companionship and love! Bob, what kind of puppy did you get?? Good for you! |

She has a Sheltie for a mother and a father that must have had a lot of Labrador in him. She is black with a white chest and a splotch of white on all four paws. She looks like a miniature Lab.
