I have 56 pending validation, hopefully you're not waiting on them.

I don't buy computers, I build them!!

So sorry, my rigs just got a bunch from some other projects with very short deadlines and they all went into EDF mode. Sucks when they try and get work during the outage and we have other projects admins setting their projects into denial of crunch mode with super short deadlines.

Will you please get off your collective behinds, and finish your APs please. My number of "Validation pending" for AP is now over 100. Please, pretty please, do your part of the crunching before I reach my retirement age. :-)

My main machine is still wading through all those heavily blanked task. I did manage to get the blanked ones reassigned to the CPUs though. It looks like it will take the CPUs a few more days to finish them. My GPU has broken out of the bog though, and is racking up numbers similar to before the blanking attack. I'm approaching 100 Validation pendings as well.

Dude we are all waiting for validations. AP task that have gone to slower machines will take longer.
Patience is a virtue. I crank out one an hour. Eventually you will get some validations.

I trust this is tongue in cheek. The ones I saw in your reference were issued June 9 with a deadline of July 4 and today is June 11th. Really?

I hope I'm not one of them. 10-day cache, so from being assigned to reporting is usually ~10 days for me.

As my luck usually ends up having it, I get stuck with "hit and run" wingmen. They come in, get some APs on their first-ever contact, and then never contact again. Yeah, the deadline comes around and it goes out to someone who runs a GPU and it gets taken care of in short order, but man.. I seem to get hit and runs, or people with a laptop that they only let it run for an hour a day, so it ends up taking 20+ days to do an AP anyway.

It all works itself out eventually.

*New Record*

This is the highest level of Blanking I've ever seen;
ap_14ja12ae_B6_P1_00326_20130609_04712.wu_0
single pulses: 4
repetitive pulses: 0
Percent Blanked: 99.85

The GPU sat there and did basically Nothing for over 2 hours.
Not a very efficient use of hardware...

Hmmmm...
I have 1,013 APs awaiting validation.

And I am very apologetic to say I also have 187 errors.
I am waiting for Raistmer to post another updated app to try to get rid of the errors.

Have you tried setting the Command lines entries yet? You don't even have to restart BOINC to try it. Just copy and paste the line from the ReadMe_AstroPulse_OpenCL_NV.txt;
-unroll 10 -ffa_block 6144 -ffa_block_fetch 1536
into the ap_cmdline_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_NV.txt file. The next task will use the settings. If you don't like it, just erase it and the next task won't use it. It's worth a try.

Hey, no new app from Raistmer yet, so I'm game. I'll see if I can do it on one rig before I retire for the night.

OK, I think I did that successfully.

Is there a way to verify when the next AP starts if the settings are being used?

I've got that covered!

New Record (maybe)

ap_14ja12ae_B6_P1_00234_20130609_04712.wu_0
single pulses: 3
repetitive pulses: 0
Percent Blanked: 99.90

Can a WU be 100% blanked?

Is there a way to verify when the next AP starts if the settings are being used?

Look in the stderr.txt file in the slot folder. It would be something like;
Running on device number: 0
DATA_CHUNK_UNROLL set to:12
FFA thread block override value:10240
FFA thread fetchblock override value:5120

BTW, I think this Host has it even worse;
All AstroPulse v6 tasks for computer 6923467
Validation pending (6) · Validation inconclusive (0) · Valid (6) · Invalid (0) · Error (90)

I looked, but I didn't find any chunks unrolling...LOL.

In the Version 7 Event Log, it would say;
Starting task ap_22no12aa_B1_P0_00085_20130609_15759.wu_0 using astropulse_v6 version 604 (ati_opencl_100) in slot 0

I am running 6.10.58, so I don't think I get that detail.

The task should be about finished by now, which machine is it? You will be able to read it online after it's reported.

It's at 68% now.
The one before it is at 84%.

Hang on a few, we'll see if I can stay awake long enough to find it.

EDIT...
In case I fall asleep....
It's host 2645052, and the newly started task was 03ja12ai......yada yada.
