NVIDIA's list of CUDA-enabled products

I would like to make an 'overview' for GTX 6xx / 7xx series graphic cards:

Graphic card = Prize (US market) = Wattage = RAC (for the beginning maybe with/of SAH Enhanced Cr., we have experiences with them)

From my experiences (GTX 2xx), if CUDA then not the whole graphic card is used, so the max power consumption won't used - ~ 3/4 instead.
This is still true with the above graphic cards?

Every help will be welcome and appreciated.

Maybe this will help members to decide which graphic card they could buy, depend of prize, RAC, wattage (electricity bill ;-).

BTW boost clock is 1100MHz on these Gainwards.

BTW boost clock is 1100MHz on these Gainwards.

More & more tempted to buy a couple. Shame i don't have the funds.

Somthing that could add to the table is a SETI performance of each GPU, minutes/seconds to crunch a reference WU for example, similar like the Fred´s performance program makes with the number of WU but instead of number of WU test real crunch time (performance in SETI), that could be very usefull to guide those who want to buy a new one.

I saw at some internet shops, the GTX680 and GTX770 for around the same price.

Which would be the better choice (highest RAC and/or best RAC/wattage)?

(BTW, the GTX7xx series will get a SAHv7 cuda55 app? ;-)

Here the specs are very telling. This is a tweaked/improved GTX 680. They made the memory controller better. The higher max power figure is because you have a better cooler and 'GPU Boost 2'. This means you can OC the card more if you want, with boost 2 allowing voltage unlock as well as higher power target. Clock for clock at reference voltage it will use the same or less power, and be cooler... it is just possible to push this card higher than reference 680,without modifying the hardware.
BTW, the GTX7xx series will get a SAHv7 cuda55 app? ;-)
Of course, but this will make most difference in 780 in TITAN after I manage to get a 780, as these have some special instructions that do *exactly* the same things as some of my optimised code, with single hardware instructions, without memory transfer costs.

NVIDIA GTX 660

According to EVGA:

1046 MHz Base Clock
1111 MHz Boost Clock
2048 MB, 192 bit GDDR5
6008 MHz (effective)
144.19 GB/s Memory Bandwidth

Total Power Draw : 140 Watts

After 'Kepler' (6xx/7xx series) comes some day next year 'Maxwell' the first GPU with ARM CPU.

How much would this 'Maxwell' (and/or ARM CPU) increase CUDA and OpenCL calculation speed?

GTX880 douple (CUDA/OpenCL) performance as GTX780?

The apps calculation will change and will then not use the system CPU, but rather the ARM CPU?

Not quite...

Note that GTX 780 has a slightly lower clock rate than the GTX 760.

Also note that they both have the same memory bandwidth, so you will only get a speedup with the GTX 780 provided the memory speed is not the limiting factor...


Sorry but the only real way to tell is to look up any hosts running those cards, or to run some real-world benchmarks!

I'm pretty sure you can't do a direct clock rate comparison. The GTX 780's GK110 GPU generally fares better at compute tasks than the GTX 760/770's GK104 GPU. Different architectures designed for different goals.
