My GPU is 5/25/2013 10:22:49 AM | | CAL: ATI GPU 0: ATI Radeon HD 2300/2400/3200/4200 (RV610) (CAL version 1.4.1734, 256MB, 224MB available, 80 GFLOPS peak) My event file says that it is requesting work, but I never receive any. What can I do to fix this? |

Please post your full messages from the event log, first 20-30 lines will do. The application used here isn't a CAL app, but an OpenCL app. So we'll need to see if your AMD GPU is recognized as being OpenCL capable, and if so, with what drivers and APP SDK. That info is in the rest of the lines, so please post those. |

Ah, sorry, I wasn't completely awake last night... The AMD that you have doesn't do OpenCL, hence why it isn't being recognized as OpenCL capable. The lowest version supported here at Seti is, if I am not mistaken, the Radeon HD4350 and above. It needs to be capable of OpenCL1.0, something your graphics chip isn't. That BOINC is asking for work for the ATI/AMD, is because it recognizes it as a CAL capable card, and the project might have CAL applications. CAL was ATI's version of Nvidia's CUDA. They're no longer having any support for it, having moved over to OpenCL. Seti does not have CAL capable applications, only OpenCL. |

I'm not getting GPU units on 2 of my 3 machines. I was running Lunatics but have deleted app_info on all machines. I have updated to v7.0.64 of Boinc and 314 of nvidia gpu drivers on all machines. The one pc that is getting gpu units has has an app_config added to run 2 units on the GTX450. It's running fine. The other machines get CPU units. The event log shows only requests for CPU units. I have just reset project on this machine. Nothing but CPU units. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Tom |

Update. After trying many different things with no success I deleted the seti project and deleted the boinc dir. After reinstalling boinc and reloading seti the system is now using the GPU for processing. I tried just using the Windows uninstall for boinc first but that did not solve the problem. Only deleting the boinc dir made any difference. |

I have been running seti@home for about since January 2001. About a year or more again I added CUDA computing to my system with a tremendous increase in workunits. About 2 or 3 weeks ago I stopped getting workunits under the 6.x.x version of BOINC. I updated to 7.0.65, I took a bit of work to get going but finally after re-installing it for the 3rd time, it worked. The problem is it does not download any CUDA workunits anymore. My start up messages say it detects the CUDA and the OpenCL but no workunits. my messages, about twice a day only, show it checking for NVIDIA workunits but never downloading them. The FAQ says the app and workunits will automatically download if you have the CUDA and OpenCL detected, but my system is not doing it. I run OpenSUSE 12.2 and am using the boinc downloaded from Setiathome and not the SUSE version (old version). What do I need to do to return to running CUDA apps? Thank You John Price |

A week ago, Seti released its new applications, version 7 If you do not have this version selected in your project preferences, you won't get work for it. So check that first! |

I have been running seti@home for about since January 2001. At this moment, there is no v7 Linux CUDA app. It is being worked on, though, as you can see in this thread |
