About every hour or so I get two Work Units that fail for no apparent reason. Here's what it says in the Event Log: 5/30/2013 9:45:43 PM | SETI@home | Task 03jn12ae.18443.19290.10.11.152_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 5/30/2013 9:45:43 PM | SETI@home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. 5/30/2013 9:45:43 PM | SETI@home | Task 03jn12ae.18443.19290.10.11.183_0 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 5/30/2013 9:45:43 PM | SETI@home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. This is also happening with every other Client I work for example: 5/31/2013 2:44:39 AM | Einstein@Home | Task LATeah0024U_496.0_213460_0.0_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 5/31/2013 2:44:39 AM | Einstein@Home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. 5/31/2013 2:44:39 AM | Einstein@Home | Task LATeah0024U_496.0_205140_0.0_0 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 5/31/2013 2:44:39 AM | Einstein@Home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. And... 5/28/2013 11:59:32 AM | Milkyway@Home | Task de_separation_19_2s_sscon_1_1366886102_22531213_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 5/28/2013 11:59:32 AM | Milkyway@Home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. 5/28/2013 11:59:32 AM | Milkyway@Home | Task de_separation_19_2s_sscon_1_1366886102_22531214_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file 5/28/2013 11:59:32 AM | Milkyway@Home | If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. What could be causing this? Should I reset the project when this happens? Should I be worried about it all? Work Units are being done it's just about every hour on the hour at a quarter to the hour this happens... Any help greatly appreciated!!!! |

They don't fail, and they don't show up as errors in your task lists on either computer either. So they finish correctly. It's one of the messages you don't have to worry about, it's what you get when something else is actively using the process, such as an anti-virus or other anti-malware program. You best add your BOINC Data directory to the exclusion zone of your AV and AM programs and only scan these by hand, with BOINC suspended or exited. |

About every hour or so... Does the system clock on that computer happen to run so fast/slow that you have set windows to synchronise with a time server every hour? That would explain the pattern. This is also happening with every other Client I work for example I suppose you are speaking of "project" when you say "client" ;-) Gruß, Gundolf |

I have noticed the same thing, I'll try excluding the data directory. Should I worry about the process too? I have Microsoft Defender and AVG free running on Windows 7. |
