Although I've only had a few V7 units validate so far it appears that it is taking around twice as long to crunch and doing twice as many flops to earn the same credit as an old MB unit.

With MB, running 2 units per GPU, to earn ~90 credits would take around 450 seconds and around 27.5 TFlops.

For V7, running one unit per GPU. To earn ~90 credits, it's taking around 475 seconds per unit (i.e. twice as long) and around 52.3 TFlops (approx twice as many)

This appears to be consistent across all AR's.

Is anyone else seeing this ?

I made several post related to that asking why that happens, yes V7 thakes longer to crunch and "paid" a lot of less credit per WU than V6 but as Jasons try to explain me on his answer it´s because the way the RAC works, something like: since most of the V7 validated results are comming (for now) from very fast crunchers the servers "think" they are "easy tasks" and gives few credit to it´s, he belive that will be sorted with the time as slow results starts to come back. Something we all agree Credit New RAC is a "black hole" that makes little sense to most of us.

At beta we got almost the same cr per wu like here.
Why not giving the servers a chance to balance out.
Of course they take longer.

Thanks for the answers people.

I suspected the question might have been asked before but the various V7 threads have so many posts in them I couldn't find the answer.

Yes Mike, now I know the reason, I will be patient :)

Yep, the credit you get sux compared to v6 mate.

I just don't know why they stick with all this complexity when they keep revising down the credits earned on each change they implement. They're heading towards 1 credit per WU, so why not just go there and be done with it.

Remember each of your wingmen needs to have finnished at least 10 non outlier units to claim full credit.

This may take some time.

I used x41zc with SAH Enhanced, switched directly to SAH v7 (both entries in app_info.xml one week before SAHv7 rolled out ;-)
(It has advantages to be a SAH-beta tester. ;-)

With SAH Enhanced: ~ 21,400 RAC.
With SAHv7: look left.
After ~ 2 1/2 days?

We're all in the same boat.
We can still compare SAH and SAH members/hosts/teams...

If CreditNew will not balance out to the Credits/day like before, I see the danger that SAH will lose members (credit junkies).

Not really, sorry.
It might be server related.
I will check this a few days.

Now that I think about it, I actually had envisioned credits going UP, what with the increased crunch time and all.

Exactly

As far as the server is concerned, the tasks returned so far finished quickly & so were 'easy' and not worth much

Wait for the slow CPU hosts to report in over the next week or so. My guess is they outnumber the fast GPU crunchers still by a factor of 5-10 or more.

Statistics is a funny game. It depends on what you are measuring.

The kitties ain't gonna waste much time sweating it out.

It is what it is, and as I have stated before, what the project does to me, it does to everyone else as well.

The only downside I see is that Seti, which before this was considered a low paying project, is even lower now.
And I would hope that would not dissuade some from participating if creds are a factor in their decision.

You all know it is not a factor in mine.

If people leave because of that Mark, the easier it will be for us who stay, to get work.

LOL

No problems there, all rigs are full to the brim right now.
Up to those silly arse limits, anyway.

And server status is looking my-t-fine.

Like i said, i`m running V7 for over 2 years at beta.
I always got aprox 100cr for a mid range task no matter which app i was running and how long it took.

Lets wait and see.

I looked to a few results with very low and with normal AP Credits/WU.

If your 'AstroPulse v6 v6.04 (opencl_ati_100)' results will compared with stock OpenCL app results: low Cr.
If your 'AstroPulse v6 v6.04 (opencl_ati_100)' results will compared with 'anonymous platform' results: normal Cr.

Hmm...

Maybe the admins need to look.
