Hi everyone! Recently I decided to get back into Seti@home again from a while back as I got a new laptop which is rather fast so I think it can handle BOINC as well! I installed it, and connected it to Seti@home. I then pressed update to see if I could grab a few tasks. But then it said 'Communication Deferred: 00:05:00', and counts down. After 2 of them, I go to my tasks window and I have a whole bunch of tasks, but all of them say download failed on them. Then I get a 24h communication deferred. If I press update again, the same thing happens, the tasks disappear, and after a couple of countdowns they appear again all failed. I have everything set to run always, and am running BOINC v7.0.64. I checked my task list on the website, and from the looks of things all the tasks sent back with Download error. The ones which were sent appear as in progress but say Error whilst downloading in the client and when I press update they'll also register as download error on the website I think. Here is a screenshot of one of the tasks with the error on the website. I also monitored my transfers part during the communication deferred. I found there were pending downloads. Like usual they would start being active 2 at a time. But after about 5-10 seconds on each one, they go to 'retry in xx:xx:xx'. After a couple of retries it says in brackets 'project backoff: xx:xx:xx', then it disappears a little later. Anyone know if there is a method of solving this? Thanks! Anthony :) |

Patience. As you can see in the news, Seti just released version 7 of its applications to the public. These will need to be downloaded by every computer out there, before work on it can be run. You may have just rejoined at the wrong time. |
