Are fish sticks the same as fish fingers? A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

I microwave fish sticks for 60 seconds, they do come out nice. It's ok Mark, I just don't see the point of lighting up the gas oven when the cookie sheet I was using won't come clean without using easy off spray and just for fish sticks or such, so I have a small microwave safe plastic dish that I microwave food in, much easier to clean, the cookie sheet is as clean as I can get it and that isn't good enough and brute force doesn't seem to work, I tried brillo pads since the sheet is not coated, it helped some, but the tougher stuff still remains around the edge... Unlike the microwave dish, which cleans up easily, yeah I'd used aluminum foil on the cookie sheet above to try and make the sheet easier to clean, that didn't work too well... And I don't see the point when you could simply toss a bit of lighter fluid on the fish sticks and self heat them with a lighter. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Well I don't have a reason for lighter fluid, since I don't smoke, besides I eat fish sticks for dinner, and I don't want to ingest lighter fluid. So I'll pass on that. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I'm not big on fish sticks, but if I do have them I prefer them baked so they're nice and crispy. My old (would be an antique if it were in nice condition) Chambers stove has what is called a deep well, basically a burner sunk to the bottom of a round miniature oven with a lid on top. If I do have fish sticks, I can put a few on a piece of non-stick foil and put it in there for a few minutes. It's also good for frozen breaded shrimp, chicken nuggets, etc. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Now you just need some crumbled bacon on top of them. Not "bacon bits," genuine bacon crumbled into small pieces. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

I believe that pic qualifies as a cheesy fish stick pic... :) The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

In the UK they are called fish fingers and considered "food for kids". Not good for you if eaten in excess as the processing causes an increase of fat content and as they they are usually made with cheap white fish have very little health benifit |

In the UK they are called fish fingers and considered "food for kids". Well the fish sticks are Gorton's and come about 115 to a resealable bag for $9.99 and are 230 calories per serving(6), I only eat 4 at a time, so that's 153.33 calories, so that's not as bad as it seems, oh and 86.67 calories comes from fat since I only eat 4, usually that would be 130 fat calories for 6 sticks.
