Sten, this is NOT the politics forum. Please do not post those opinions here.

You had political opinions yourself, about how great England is, although you wrote it in French. Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house.

That's kinda harsh, isn't it?

Yes, it was kinda harsch of him to tell me not to post such things, when he himself was very political when it came to his England. He hid it in French, not what this thread is about, and I hid mine in Swedish. Thanks for noticing.

I think the difference is that their remarks were just silly and didn't contain any real political issues, whereas yours did. No one would have objected if you had just said that Sweden is the greatest nation in the history of the northern hemisphere... or something like that.

That is up to you Mods. If memory serves me right, Zhao is in Europe right now.
Since this seems to have gone off topic and not in a nice direction, I say lock it. Send him a pm and if he wishes to reopen this thread, reverse it. Then again, that is just my two cents worth.

Zhao, the original poster has not been in here since 18 June.

Looks like this thread has gone sour.

I thought "cafe seti" was for *friendly* banter. Doesn't look like friendly banter in here anymore.

I mean, mandrin chinese is also difficult to learn. And so is french and spanish. And so is japanese. And so is <fill in blank>...

Zhao, continue this thread or lock it?

I stayed in Europe for a month, although I only grasp the basic vocabulary, but I found that the basic vocabulary and gesture, I can express myself more easily. But in a restaurant menu when depressed, some restaurants have pictures, some do not have. So I had to point I know the words"chips""pizza".Because I don't know how to spell a steak, so I did not eat

One difference is that the toilet charges in Europe and China. in China, almost all of the toilet is free. And the European luxury goods are very cheap, China is three times the price of europe. But many of the hotels do not have air conditioning, this summer was particularly hot, no fan, so sleep at night can be very sad.

Of course, I sort out the photos, but why you can not directly copy the picture, but need pictures web address, this is very troublesome..

I think for me, the most difficult is the pronunciation, Coca Cola, a total of four tone, the first three reads are similar, when I buy Coca Cola, the salesman should think for a while will know what I mean.

Yes, it is troublesome, but that's how this site is.

If you can't find any other way to do it, you can send them to me and I'll put them on my site for you. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Welcome back Zhao.

Glad to hear that.

I may have even learned a thing or two (probably more about British than American English).

You care if you have to do specification writing.

But here, couldn't give a damn as long as what is written makes sense and doesn't confuse or upset people.

My pet-peeve is about the fact that none of the people whose first language is English know how to use the little word of its correctly. All of you always add the totally unnecessary apostrophe. And then you get that one everywhere, from forum posts to Wikipedia, to the IMDB, to FAQs, to paperback books, to more official letters.

And since you're all under the impression that since it's you're using it on the internet it doesn't matter, then it's no wonder you get people who write get's, ton's of error's (title), and just about anything else on http://www.apostropheabuse.com/.

That's a fun site, but it didn't help me much with its/it's. As I was taught, use the apostrophe for the contraction it is => it's, but not for the possessive its. Is that how you learned it?

it's: use only when you can replace the word with either "it is" or "it has".
its: is the possessive form for it.

E.g. The dog has had its bone and it's chewing it to bits.

Perhaps people need to print out http://www.its-not-its.info/. :-)

In the mean time...
