I've resurrected my account after many years now that I have some idle computers. I generally block all Internet from work machines, especially port 80 and 443. I can make a temporary override in my Fortinet firewall for the machines processing, but I'd rather not leave things too open. Can I whitelist a domain like *.berkeley.edu? If you look inside boinc.exe (e.g. by hex editor) and search for http:/ you will see some hard-coded links: http://www.google.com/ (used by BOINC to check that Internet is working OK) http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols (for debug/crash reports)   - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)   ID: 1366110 ·
