Message 1365325 - Posted: 7 May 2013, 2:00:40 UTC

There have many sightings over the years, many are fake, or can validly be explained as something else, but some are genuine.

The Jerusalem UFO for instance, although its been heralded as a hoax (it was not explained why they thought it was a hoax, and then there were the witnesses on the ground and their testaments).

I have seen unexplainable craft come right by a window, clear as day, could not be anything else, trouble is no-one else saw it they were all focused on a manic speaker who demanded all eyes were focused on him, but my eye wandered to the window, where I saw a UFO.

Later that night there were other sightings over the harbour of a bright orange orb, darting around, before it disappeared. This was in Sydney, end of 2011.

During New Years, it might have been New Years morning, while walking around the block in my home town, Hamilton, NZ I saw another orange orb, moving extremely quickly across the nights sky.

Point is they do exist, undeniably, et Seti@Home never seems to find any signals. Perhaps its time to review the method of searching and perhaps focus some efforts in looking at our own planet.

I mean if everything is happening here why look elsewhere.

Lets just review what we have. We are a water planet, with 7 billion reasonably intelligent lifeforms.

In all our searching to try and find extraterrestrial life, we have not been able to find conclusive evidence that has fallen within the search parameters, apart from one WOW signal.

Yet this planet that we live on, is a beacon of life in this part of the milky way.

It would be a huge beacon of curiosity for other lifeforms, who have technology that we cannot even begin to comprehend. Logic says that.

It doesn't mean they doesn't exist (because in our understanding its impossible).

By all means keep on searching, but I think if we put a probe in low earth orbit, and listened at our own planet, we might have better luck in picking up real evidence.

There will be a lot of noise, perhaps too much, but if we know what we are looking for, or have some smart code the removes the noise (all the man-made stuff), and just leave exceptions that can be analysed, would that not be a better use of our time.

Or search space around our earth outside of the low orbit where the ISS is or slightly beyond that.

Even the astronauts, have seen craft they cannot explain.

Point is we should be looking IMHO closer to home.

7 billion people and still not one shred of irrefutable proof that we are being visited. Most likely what you saw has an explanation that does not involve aliens.

why do so many people WANT to belive in UFO's? That is the burning question.

Those who believe the bible already are convinced that we have been visited by people from the sky. With such delusional conditioning the current trend is fully understandable.

mmm...

1) what about Puma Punku in Bolivia..
http://ancientaliensdebunked.com/references-and-transcripts/puma-punku/

The debunker in the link above says all the stones are made of red sandstone, yet wikipedia disagrees and says that there is some andesite. (published works were referenced)

He also says that the stones were carved using copper tools, yet copper has a moh hardness of 3, and red sandstone has a hardness of 4-4.5. So it would not be possible to use a copper based precision cutting tool to cut red sandstone, as its much harder than the tool, and tool would bend or break.

And andesite is much harder again, its 7 on the Moh Scale. As you go higher on this scale objects are almost exponentially harder (its not linear).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohs_scale_of_mineral_hardness.

He also does not explain how the stones got there. 10km to nearest quarry, the stones were not carbon dated, just the ground around them (that doesn't prove anything), if its only as old as the middle ages (find that hard to believe myself), then there would be evidence of wooden logs, or tracks, and/or dragging marks on the stones, but none of these exist. No trees locally, trees don't grow to well at 4,000m. The largest stones are 130 tonnes (about 100 cars in weight). The only viable explanation is aliens placed them or alien technology was used, or they really are much, much older i.e. 12,000 ya.

Point is the quality of the debunking is not very accurate, or plausible.

2) what above the alien images on Mt Ruapehu. When you fly a Cessna in from the North (using the flight simulator on google earth), you can see what looks like a landing space, and caves, and multiple alien heads.
http://0fm.co.nz/zero/content/glp-new-thread-have-aliens-visited-mt-ruapehu-new-zealand-i-own-copyright-taken-google-ear

3) I have seen these photo's before - you cannot debunk russian astronaut video feeds
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiIoBpIDogw
I don't know where the still images are from at the end though.

4) Kaikoura Lights - very public sightings seen and reported by many, including air traffic control, and the RNZAF, gripped the whole country and world at the time. I lived through this, got me interested in the whole UFO phenomenon. Studied Project Blue Book, even did a class project on it.
http://www.stuff.co.nz/marlborough-express/news/kaikoura/4499465/UFOs-were-all-natural

Sure are many examples like this, in other countries.

Clearly (William) you don't believe (in Jesus), but it is a side issue here. Some christians believe in ET, and some don't. Some take Genesis literally, and say the Earth was created 8,000 years ago, but of course its been around for at least 4.5 billion years. Well that's what we are told. Radiometric dating says its older than 1 billion years, what about the other 3.5 billion years, that whole world believes, or the age of the universe 9 billion years, based on the speed of light. Our own understanding is not the only understanding.

Yes UFO does not automatically mean alien, but something that is unexplained could be.

And yet, like God, although we cannot yet prove their existence, many of us have faith that they do exist.

To refute all the UFO nuts, why not look at it from their point of view: -

They Exist so questions: -

1: Where do they come from?
2: Physiology of the pilot
3: Their technology
4: Their reasons for visiting

With the majority of the ones "supposedly" seen, they are fairly small craft, so: -

Speed
Cosmic Radiation
Power

Have never seen plausible answers to any of those questions!

Simply, you can't give an answer to things unknown. Visitations by beings from
outer space, totally unknown. Not until either we irrefutably experince the
landing of a space craft from outer space, have direct communication from beings from outer
space or we are able to visit planets in outer space will we ever be able to
postulate with any degree of certainty that there are other beings out there or
the potential for other beings being out there. As Chris stated earlier, UFO's
means exactly that, "Unidentified Flying Objects" with no evidence, currently,
that they are in anyway extraterrestrial in origin.

To prove your theory, you have posted a link to a message board on another site who's heading states

" UFOs ,Conspiracy Theorists , and Lunatic Fringe"

I don't think that passes for scientific proof of any theory.

One's eyes can play tricks. I posted this on some thread 5-30-2000.

I was on my computer when I heard a loud airplane. I was in my living room at the computer when I heard the airplane. My son was home and yelled to me Mom, come here there's a UFO. I ran into the kitchen and looked. He said see it out there. I said where? He said right over the other house. I looked and saw a bright glowing round shape object which appeared to have a glitter effect. Then it went up and left. I then went outside to see the airplane making circles and chasing the object. Janesville, is not far from where we live. Never saw the plane. Blue Angels, were coming by me and turning around. Next time you see The Blue Angels, Watch Out!!!

Yep! No ufo's. What was this strange airplane? The U.S. Navy's Blue Angels. The Blue Angels are making their first appearance in Janesville, Wisconsin. "People will see our maneuvers and think of them as daring feats or stunts. Right!!!

Well, we won't have the Blue Angels to blame our UFO spotting on for a while. The Pres in his continuing program to eliminate wasteful government spending, like White House tours, has ordered the Blues disbanded. So the pilots will go back to their regular squadron duties, the mechanics back to their regular jobs and the planes assigned as gate guards at the few remaining Naval Air Stations. So where are the big savings?

Yet again it is the same old story which still goes around.

We take UFO's for granted, possibly make serious scientific investigations or scrutiny of these things because we think they are alien craft which belong to other intelligent civilizations in the Universe.

But do we know yet what UFO's really are? Seti@home is trying to find intelligent signals coming from the Milky Way by means of processing raw data which has been collected by means of the Arecibo Radio Telescope.

Apparently there should still be a difference between these two subjects.

Wow.
One doesn't have to believe to come up with a plausible answer to the size of the craft.

1) They aren't the main craft traveled in from ... well, wherever else. They are scout craft launched from the larger/main craft.
