You need to change all the... <type>CUDA</type> <count>1</count> to the right one you whant to use <type>CUDA</type> <count>0.5</count> ... for 2 WU at a time. etc... still few in your app_info.xml and don´t forget do reset the entire boinc after that. BTW After put this file to work and you are and "advanced user" and knows how to edit, go to Jason site and try the x41zc builds (you acutaly use x41g), for the 680 go for the cuda50 version, you will notice a big increase in your GPU production due its optimizations. http://jgopt.org/download.html |

I have similar problem with another site few years ago, i call the ISP and found that happens because a "route problem", after some time with the suport people they finaly fix the route and all working fine after that. Maybe that could give you a clue to fix that from your side. |

I not a network expert , just a normal user, but apears the route is working so something else is happening that avoid you to open the site, maybe someone else could give you a hand how to fix that. My only guess is something like forbiden sites from your anti-wathelse you use to protect your computer (virus/spam/spy etc). But, as you could see, by several others post the site it´s working normaly. I know there is a mirror site of the builds, just don´t remeember the link, see in some forum few months ago, so you need to do some digging. |

You need to change all the... tyvm that did the trick. would use the x41zc except they are all in zip7 format. if they were in regular zip format i'd have it installed. |

You need to change all the... ??? It's not like .7z is an obscure format. I've been using it for nearly a decade now. Magazines like PC World has 7-zip in their best freeware lists year after year. Both WinRAR and WinZip supports this format. http://www.7-zip.org/download.html Your reason for not using it just seems silly to me. "Life is just nature's way of keeping meat fresh." - The Doctor |

It's not like .7z is an obscure format. I've been using it for nearly a decade now. Magazines like PC World has 7-zip in their best freeware lists year after year. Both WinRAR and WinZip supports this format. it boils down to this, If I find I need 7zip compressed program to do something that is vital to me or the job I do then I will purchase the program. at the moment boinc is not a mission critical program nor are the addons for it. would I like to use the lastest optimize app, sure but it isnt a requirement to crunch. I asked once if someone would be willing to convert the file I needed which was for using my onboard intel graphics to crunch, i didnt get any offers and I as fine with that. when someone asked why I didnt just download and install 7zip I explained why I didnt want to. To me at the moment the program is not needed. |

Both WinRAR and WinZip supports this format. 7 zip is open source freeware, my friend. You don't have to purchase it or register it. I have used it for years, and it has integrated simply into any Windows platform I have used, with perfect transparency. You are of course, free to decide what you wish to use on your computers, so I won't put you down for that. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

??? Actually, in trader's defense it's not silly, but user expectation. I distribute beta test applications like this on purpose as a 'control' measure. Elaborating, it's exactly these kindof anti-effort sentiments that resulted in the initial unified installers & subsequent refinement with the help of others. These tend to 'go viral' quite quickly (as would regular .zips), a potentially dangerous scenario for beta software. Beta testing requires users that are prepared to test unpolished products to find the limitations, bugs etc. , have some level of assumed skills, and in short are prepared to go that little bit extra to help the effort. I have no issue with those choosing to opt out of beta testing, and instead wait for an installer etc. , that's what they're designed for. Aside from that, there are large number of reasons I choose 7zip, some technical, some courtesy to those providing my site bandwidth & storage space. That these considerations amount to choosing a packaging style that doesn't suit general end users is not only to avoid duplicating effort should a sudden change or retraction be needed before release. I wish more parties would understand what it means to be a beta tester before downloading beta software. Unfortunately most of the time it seems to be about getting free stuff early, and having a good whinge about it, more than actually contributing.
