That previous link led to a BBC report.

Here is another BBC one

Health Secretary

I'm on the verge of agreeing with Jeremy Hunt here, what is happening?

Time to clean out the dross & return hospitals to their original purpose....

...healing the sick & injured. For those who feel they were born ugly, fat, ot whatever, go to work save your money & pay for any cosmetic opertaion you want!

Although perfectly right to do so, it will mean a change in EU law, so don't hold your breath. The fact that a Minister agrees is a step in the right direction. Another reason to come out of the EU then.

Glad you agree.

I will agree that it is looking more and more likely that there is less reason to stay in than come out. Still a lot to play for.

Yep, but on a serious note, have to totally agree with a past statement of yours - Return to the EEC - job done.

WTH are bonus payments needed for? They're getting paid to do a job and failing at it.....

More failing hospitals

Why so much low staff numbers? Is it because the thieves at the top creaming off the funds in bloated salaries?

Low staff levels and poor training

WTH?

Firstly, British white people see working in hospitals as either beneath them or just not interested.

This is where we agree to disagree. That statement is pure bullshit plain and simple. I spent 2 good years working at my local hospital and there were an equal mix of races.

The problem started when the hospitals were taken over and run by trusts. The pressure to perform with less staff and funds because the bulk of the finances were siphoned off by beaurocratic nincompoops with their political correct policies made the genuine nurses and doctors seek employment elsewhere.

For example HCA's, just another term for general untrained dogsbodies. Let nurses nurse and doctors doctor. There should be just the minimum amount of pen pushers in a hospital so that it can maintain it's administrative structure nothing more.

Firstly, British white people see working in hospitals as either beneath them or just not interested. That is why you see so many ethnic minority nurses and doctors.
Partially true, i know quite a few of the medical students at the university and many of them see working in NHS hospitals as beneath them because working in private hospitals pays more. Tackling that requires a different solution.
Secondly, hospitals are trying to be run as businesses when they are nothing of the sort. They should be funded adequately to do what they do. Instead we have Administrators on comparable salaries to city types, managing a medical environment on a cost basis. No wonder it is a shambles.
This is definitely true, similar story with the Post Office.

While I would agree with the sentiments expressed about the number and "quality" of administrative staff I would raise issue with the statement about nursing and medical staff.
Last time I was in for any length of time most of the nurses were "wasps", my consultant although not white was actually more English than me, being an from an umpteenth generation freed slave family (I can only claim "born in England", not even "made and born in England"). Later the day case centre I attended was staffed almost excursively by wasps, all of who had a tremendous sense of humour - typified by the male nurse who came in and, in a very camp voice, announced he was the "local shirt lifter and thing inserter", and would any of us gent require assistance in inserting "the thing". Only one of six of us did - when the curtains were drawn back he looked very bewildered and worried, he claimed that as "the thing" was inserted he could feel two hands, one on each shoulder - what he didn't see was the other nurse creep in, and presumably "assist" in the insertion, by placing her hands in the (in)appropriate places...

Good old Waily Fail

Disgraceful

Shocking

"And MPs and campaigners say it is absurd some hospitals are making nurses redundant or have imposed recruitment freezes while others are desperately having to poach them from abroad."

Let's not be too quick to judge, i remember many people arguing against Mark Carney's appointment to the BOE, and he seems to be doing alright.
