Message 1358100 - Posted: 18 Apr 2013, 16:16:28 UTC - in response to Message 1358064.

So, apparently James isn't at work 10:45a Syracuse time (and not hiding posts violating rules).
Hop on I-81. Drive south. Pass Cortland. (You may notice around Cortland a change in the weather. One can be in a blizzard in Syracuse and then enter wonderful springtime weather while passing Cortland. Yes, this can happen in April, such as in 1994.)
Do not cross the PA border.
At Binghamton, turn west onto old NYS Route 17 (I-86 now?). Proceed to Elmira. Do not turn too early, as you probably do not want to end up in Southside.
Take what is probably called the Water Street Exit. Very quickly, you should see St. Joseph's hospital. See if St. Joe's Psych Center is still there. If so, look into its conditions. Educate yourself about mental health issues.
On your return, if you can figure out which big hill the psych center of the Binghamton area is on, you can also check the conditions there and further educate yourself on mental health issues.
None of this will suggest to you that care should be cut.
All of this will suggest you could not read that I said they should have stayed on the mental health topic and that many do not understand mental health issues.
Your response remains one of the most bizarre misreads ever. Nice to see you and Dull patting each others' backs over it.

As I work nights why would I be at work? As to not hiding posts see the forum moderation post up above about off topic posts. Seeing as the OP isnt redXing off topic posts they stay.

As for your directions Thats the long way. Id get off at Cortland and take Route 13.

Come on folks, we simply must learn, knives don't kill people, guns don't kill people, bombs don't kill people, explosions don't kill people, vehicle collisions don't kill people, storms don't kill people, disease doesn't kill people, GOD kills people.

Until we properly control and license god, people will continue to die. All our efforts to create a safer environment are misdirected.

Some would do that, as my Dad did. I haven't had to make the trip in over 20 years, so not remembering Route 13 is forgiveable. Either way, the trip's about 2 hours.
But the focus is on mental health. Something that was in the narrative in December and January, but is not now. It should be.

The problem is not mental health . Nodody wont's to take your guns away . Militay weapons should stay in the military . It's called gun control . Under to 2nd ammendendment you could advocate owning your own nuke but is anybody realy suggesting that is ok

I was going to put up a defence of the 2nd ammendmant but it's obvious America is most respectful or intelligent enough to hold the write to bear arms

Mental health most certainly is an issue.
On the other hand, one might wonder if there is some healthy paranoia about the Second Amendment rights or if it just plain paranoia.

I have seen information that says that the percentage of mentally unhealthy people is pretty much the same from country to country. I have seen information that many countries play violent video games, but that is pretty much equal also. We are all humans, and have basically similar genetics. There are acceptations, where people living in high altitudes have bigger hearts and lungs, or people living in different environments have adapted to the different conditions. But, over all, people are very similar. Laws don't always work, sometimes they do, but the availability of firearms does change the outcome. If a country has the most guns per capita, then the most crimes by those guns is at a higher level. That doesn't say that law abiding gun owners commit crimes. They don't.

well if you could you would also have to provide the security to keep it protected and do what ever maintenance, cost would be huge. it would never be used.

this is the same reason some don't feel threatened by Iran obtaining a nuke.

Hate to say it but the Local police here discourage reporting of petty theft from vehicles and the like. Why, you might ask. Because those crimes are virtually impossible to solve and stolen article are just as likely never to turn up. This makes the crime blotter look bad. All those unsolved petty crimes just look bad on a cities books. Best to just brush them aside and ignore it.

Yep. And all those police don't have to write the reports. Makes their response time better. Spend less on cops so there is more for bribery and graft.

Ignore littering. Ignore petty theft. Teach the populace to ignore the law. Once they learn that they can ignore every law especially the sins.

Once you teach the populace to ignore gun laws, you can take them away.

And once you have done that, you can trace your history to Hitler.

This is not rhetoric. This, my friends, is history.

Take the guns, then the country, then their totalitairy.
I have some history with this.
