This morning I uploaded 4 wu's and yet I can't find them in my results section (it is now 8 hrs since I uploaded and I have done a project update). All I see are some pending wu's and ones I have cached. Where did all the results go? Did I receive credit for them? How much credit was granted? I was starting to see a few results with 0 granted credit even though they claimed 40+, how do I know if I am having any computer problems?

Come on dev's....you either give us access to results for a week or show us nothing at all. Seeing pending or cached wu's tells me stuff all really. I want to know that I'm getting my fair share of the good stuff. Another black mark for S@H.

Hi

The validator and assimilator are very quick at the moment.
When the results arent listed in results page they was deleted by the file deleter from the database and credits are given.
The devs are informed about this issue but its on low priority.

Slight correction, the file_deleter delets wu & result-files from upload/download-directory then not needed any longer, but it's the db_purger that back-ups and removes wu from the database. ;)

Hi

Thanks for that, but when the validator didn´t check the results so quickly the file deleter has nothing to delete.

As i read in the dev-list there is a db_field inserted to show the results 1 week longer. I can't say when or if it is yet implemented but the starting is there. So you see your input is regarded at Berkeley.

It looks like the Results that have been granted credit are staying in your account longer now, I checked 1 PC this morning and there where about a dozen results still there yet for that PC showing the credit that they had been granted ...

WOOOHOO! So with, say conservatively, over a million wu's completed a week that's still a hell of a load on the database. Well done dev's. Black mark rubbed out.

(see we do give positive feed back - next thing on the validator list, those pesky 0 granted credit results)

Light green on white background might not be that easy for colorblind ppl IMHO :/
luckly I'm not colorblind, so I really don't know... but might be vise to put in considerations when thinking of colors (as this is such a big project there must be ppl beeing colorblind)

(and that "Received or Deadline" headline is almost unreadable for ppl seeing colors :/)

I have a problem with this wu in the context of deadlines See here
i did not return it, because I had some major technical problems. Now, the wu is pending since august and it was not sent out again. there are two people still waiting for their credit..

P.S: the host is no more online.

Weren't there some server troubles back about then that caused many WUs to glitch one way or another?

I sent in a suggestion to fix this using font-wight/style and colors so that they can be set to your needs with the default to be colors, options to have colors only, color & font, font only to distinguish the values.

All in all, it is a nice touch and makes the site a little cooler with these usibility touches. As with any software there are always possibilities for improvements ...

Readability is a function of contrast. The higher the contrast, the better the readability. Some web sites are almost unreadable because of the lack of contrast. It's like they never try to look at their own site to see how it actually looks.

I don't have any problems with the "new result" color, but perhaps a darker green would be better.

I like the color coding, but obviously they haven't set it up to show color coding on the older results (see B-Roy's referenced results).

Hummm... just as I was posting this, I lost connectivity to SETI@home. I can reach other sites, so it's not me, or my network connection. The connection is back now. If this is double posted, it's not my fault!

Cheers,

Stephen
