Validation pending (65)??? Results by user ID are not public. You need to link to results by host ID. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=6951402&offset=0&show_names=0&state=2&appid= Yes have 65 pending. Is there a question about something specific, or just how validation works? SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

How can two people have the same screen name? because only the email of the account has to be unique. UID of course is unique, too. You can sign up (and change to) pratically any name you want. Some special chars might not be permissible. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

How can two people have the same screen name? The usual way, by typing it. Have you seen how many administrators there are? |

Point is... When I posted that last comment, my screen name was Mark Twain. Can change it at will. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Point is... Your point was lost, as I'm sure you realize, because when you changed your name back, it changed back for your previous post too. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

The HAL Plant does seem to keep itself busy after all these years. There are 100's of HAL9000s. It looks like there are at least 20 accounts with an earlier sign up date that mine. It does look like I might have been the first one to sign up for BOINC. The search only returns a max of 184 results. It is hard to tell for sure exactly. I had to filter the results to even find myself. Besides my 3 digit and 1 4 digit user ID it looks like most of the others have at least 6 digit ID's. Probably after the best test was finished & all the SET@Home users were imported into a BOINC db. How can two people have the same screen name? Mark, you are such a unique individual, I can't imagine anyone would want to expend the time and effort to impersonate you..... (8{) Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

At what point should I get concerned about validateing pending units as it seems to be going up yesterday 65 today 77 wondering if something has gone array . 77 valid 34 errors(not worried about new gpu installed and I hadn't made environment verible changes) and 2 inconculesive , 150 in progress 34* total or is that normal for the amount of units i'm doing ? |

Watch the inconclusives and errors and don't worry about the pendings. Those pendings are just waiting for wingmen and that's out of your control. The pendings will rise when there are a) few astropulse tasks and b) lots of shorties. That's been the case the past few days. I'm up to 500 pendings, a little higher than a few days ago. "Validation pending" are tasks you have finished but are waiting for your wingman to finish before they can be validated. You are done, there is nothing else you can do and no point in worrying about them until the wingman returns the 2nd task of the pair. If it validates, there was no problem. If it comes up "inconclusive" just sit tight and wait for the 3rd opinion to come back. If your task is then ruled "invalid", THEN you have cause to look for a problem. Remember, we have a LOT of different machines attached to this project, many of them much older and slower than yours. Not all of them crunch S@H exclusively, and not all of them are connected to the Internet 24/7/366. My P-4HT/WinXP boxes run a 2-day turnaround, and my Mac G4s run 3-5 days, but I have tasks pending right now where my wingman has a 25- or 30-day turnaround time. Even with the increased bandwidth available since the servers moved to the CoLo facility, on this project, Patience (and a good spell-checker) is not just a virtue, it is a requirement. Those pendings are money on the way to the bank. Something's wrong with the forum. This thread now shows more posts than it has and a different thread owner??? Or is it at my end? Another Fred Support SETI@home when you search the Web with GoodSearch or shop online with GoodShop. |

Those pendings are money on the way to the bank. Post count and owner look right to me. Might have been one of those transient phenomena common to electronics and the Internet. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |
