Has anyone had their computer antivirus software warn them of a virus lately? Or has anyone ever had their security compromised while running seti@home or any of the other programs?
Also,
Can anyone tell me how many computing hours I need to accumulate in order to warrant a tour of a ground array site that is located here where I live and attend college in Lassen county? Maybe help me find someone who might have knowledge of volunteer/intern positions, or like I said, a tour of a facility would be a great opportunity?
Thank you,
David

None of the BOINC software, nor any of the seti software or files, contains any viruses.Depending on your AV program, there have been reports of "false positives".

Running seti has nothing to do with the activities of any array locations. Seti data comes from the Arecibo unit in Puerto Rico, but it is obtained from operations of other projects at that location.

Ok, and thank you for the information. I'm pretty sure it was a false positive, it was a window that Ive seen before associated with wrong information, I just needed to be sure......and that's to bad, it was a long shot I know, but u never know till u ask. Right? I enjoy your program very much, its a very interesting search, glad to be a part
