I could go for a slice of that. Or a piece of chocolate cheesecake with raspberry syrup drizzled over it.... Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Monday, you missed out a bit of important info. What's the pie carrying capacity of that yellow beast? |

Monday, you missed out a bit of important info. The carrying capacity capacity of that bike is almost zero. There is not even enough room under the seat for a pair of waterproof pants. I have successfully carried a box of sushi home in a plastic bag by hanging it off the handle bars. Only a short trip though under 2 km. You get nothing under the rider seat. And a little space under the pillion seat. The little blue bag is a toolkit. |

Monday, you missed out a bit of important info. Still its a nice bike Monday, I had about as much room with the GS1150ES as you did, of course since the 1150cc engine is an inline 4 cylinder, not a 1200cc 2 cylinder V-twin mill, it would accelerate that much harder, in other words hold on tight or fall off, I had fun on that bike, but then with the right rider it could do the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds... And yes I'm still licensed, but I don't have the means to own more than a car now. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

This goes hard enough Victor. I've been against the seat step a few times and it's great. Trouble is it only takes a few seconds to be seriously breaking the law and risking death. lol. Edit. I have a car for getting all the pies I need. :) |

...Trouble is it only takes a few seconds to be seriously breaking the law and risking death. It's worse than that. He's dead, Jim! Death by pie... |

Yeah, Me too, though I've in the past hit the gas and not gotten caught, today I just use the cruise control, can't get Me for speeding at less than the limit or for past speeding that only I can say happened. I got an '85 RX7 GSLSE in my driveway says it'll take your Stang for lunch. You know anything about a wankel? It will wind to 8000 rpm without a twitch. 4:11 rear gearset. Top end is something around 100. I engineered that to be top end. Max RPM and road speed, all maxed at the same time. And getting there is quite a hoot. I have NEVER been beaten in a road race with the RX. N E V E R. I was once driving down the road to Lori's place and encountered another RX. We both banged it off, and when all the dust had settled, he asked me if I did offroad racing. He said that he did, and he had never seen rear wheel drifting like I had done. Suppose I missed my life's calling.....LOL. Very sticky tyres and much clutch action to get the rear end to work. The wankel only has some 130 HP at the wheels. But, getting that out of it takes some nudging. Mostly knowing the RPM limits. If you can keep it between 7 and 8k.......magic happens. As I could not have driven then both at the same time, I have my doubts about whether my 600 HP Pontiac could have beaten it. My gut tells me it could not. Sorry Mark, that was on an '84 Suzuki GS1150ES, your '87 Mazda would be hard pressed even with Me on the bike in 1984 to do more than watch My taillight leave you far behind, in the dust... The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

And my Buell wouldn't even want to be seen in the same street as a Mazda. |

Sorry Mark, that was on an '84 Suzuki GS1150ES, your '87 Mazda would be hard pressed even with Me on the bike in 1984 to do more than watch My taillight leave you far behind, in the dust... Bikes are fast. I would have taken you over once the smoke cleared. No question. At full bore, it will lift the front end up a couple of inches. And that takes the torque to the rear. I got pink slips, dude. I once beat a very pretty Dodge Monaco with a 440, fully dressed. And that was a very pretty, very well prepared car. It had not been beaten before that day. My rear view was all I saw of it. Yeah.....the bike thing. Not an equal race. You give up a few thousand pounds and then let's talk. The RX will beat your arse against your Stang. Any time. Let's get horses against horses, not be bringing bikes to a gun fight. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

All I have now is a 1999 Ford Escort zx2 HOT sport coupe w/ac that still needs fixing, right now I'm working on replacing a front door to the house and then the DMV and smog check in September, the bike and any stang are long gone, someone else owns them now. I never had a Stang' but one of my old girl friends had a pinstriped white /69 fun car. That car had horrible gas mileage, but a blast to drive. |

I once hit 100 in my first car, a '69 Buick LeSabre. It was totally unmodified and already in pretty crappy condition when I owned it, but it didn't have any problem going that fast. [edit] I paid $425 for it in 1985 or '6. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

100 on the '84 GS1150ES at 6am in the morning and not a cop to be seen as I knew where one was and He was going the other way, hehehe... 105 in the '99 Escort(and no farther as the engines computer limits the speed) 135 in the '06 Mustang GT(should have gotten the '07 instead), when I had one, that was a blast. No tickets and if anyone saw Me, they didn't say anything, so who's to say that any of it happened? The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

The 350 or the 455? If I recall, the LeSabre came with either flavor that year. The one I owned was a 455 version. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |
