Yep me too! The kidney bits would be left to one side, I'd rather starve than eat offal. Of course, these days after the recent horse meat scandal in the UK, you never really know what the "meat" actually is in pre-packed meat products anyway. It seems us gullible Brits have been duped for the last 30 years by dodgy continental suppliers and never realised it. You don't even know if the vegetables you buy are secret GM crops either. Soylent Green anyone?

I'll have you know that is a Holland's Steak and Kidney pie. If there was anything wrong with their products, and they have been in business for over 150 years, then all of East Lancashire and beyond* would have died out long ago as they supply over 90% of all chippies in the region.

*Beyond, Holland's Pies supplies the pies at Manchester United, Liverpool and many other sports clubs including Delia's Norwich City.

This single portion "Desperate Dan Pie" is about 18 inches in diameter, and is one of the smaller sized pies available at a pub not too far from where I live - larger sizes can be ordered with several "sets of irons" so multiple people can share and enjoy.

One tip:- break open the crust and allow the contents to cool a bit before diving in to get a fork full. Failure to do so will result in very burnt mouth, and one having a very much extended leg...

Then you'll love this one, it's Mango Pie, just like McD's Apple Pie, but with Mango instead, it's from Nicaragua.
