See your words make me very inspired, let me feel warm. I feel that this platform is a peaceful place, without dispute, insult, name-calling, more inclusive and respect. As you said, I think the two kind of eastern and Western cultures will shine bright spark.

We are all here from all over the world because we share a goal of finding evidence of life from somewhere other than earth. We may, or may not find that evidence, but we have found something even more valuable. We have found each other. Many good friendships have come from here, and I am sure many more will be found.

My English is not good. Most of my time to see English must check the translation software, to be honest, this process is very painful.

I like to talk with you, this is a completely different feeling. You know, I am now university the third grade, my classmates are divided into two kinds of people: all day in the dormitory to play games or sleeping people, all day preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination in the library.

I usually talk to them, most of them only talks about the game, basketball, girl talk, I feel very depressed....

In this platform, I see a lot of smart people, many respected elders, I began to like here, I think I can learn many things from you for a lifetime.

I am very happy to meet you.

I do not trust governments. I don't even trust my own government.

We wish success to the Chinese people, and all people. Korea would be better unified and not under western control. While governments will always argue and people will try to take advantage, we salute honest efforts to better the lives of everyone.

我们希望成功的中国人,所有的人。韩国将得到更好的统一,而不是受到西方的控制。虽然政府始终认为,人们会尝试利用,我们赞扬诚实的努力,更好地每个人的生活。

Janice, South Korea is not a communist run country, on the contrary, they are
totally anti-communists. To this end then there is no way that you could
possibly unite both North & South under a common governmental system. Be this
either under Communism or Westernism so to this end if North Korea does have to
be invaded then, on-land, this will fall to the Chinese to do. This way they can
take control of the North with the benefit that North Korea will find it very
easy to accept the newly resolved political system that takes control over them.
It would be a political system that they are virtually already used to and would
lead to quick stability in that country. A stability that would not be
achievable had a Western power been forced to take control there. I wonder if
this has already been worked out and agreed to by the powers concerned and that
if North Korea does start firing off then all others concerned have agreed that
China will take control once the flack dies down.

Hi,Janice。
We never against North Korea and South Korea combined, as East Germany, West Germany. But the biggest problem is the difficulty will be much higher than the German Ideology, merger, because the two people's feelings of hostility reached its peak. But China also worry that, after the merger of the National Total Westernization, once the United States in the Korean Peninsula layout military base, China will without insurance can observe.

From the historical angle, the long run, the course will merge, from now on the development situation of short-term is unlikely to be achieved, North Korea after the merger will certainly face north and south of the ideological, political, economic, and cultural aspects of the conflict is between East and West Germany, for decades and will not solve. And now North Korea's position is a mountainous area, the economic development itself is difficult. There is a stable neighbors is conducive to China's economic development, in fact, to maintain the status quo is consistent with the interests of all parties to the current.

I thank you for your input.
You don't know me well, but I have been known to be rather blunt and to the point sometimes. So much so, that even my fellow Setizens sometimes shun me.

This is on Seti matters. As far as NK is concerned, I have a tough time dealing with it.

I could go one way, and say glass the country over.
But that would kill way too many innocent people.

I could go the other way, and say ignore them. But that would be just that......ignorant of the threat they profess to have and to employ.

So, what do the people of the world do????
Wait a few more days for the ignoramus to make his move?
Hope he quiets down and wait a few more years until he really DOES have small nuclear warheads and has the long range missiles to deploy them?

Send in snipers and hit him quietly?

Crap, the CIA did that to our own president, I am sure we can take out fatkim.

Message 1353945 - Posted: 6 Apr 2013, 1:34:28 UTC

China hopes that North Korea is China's economic reform, so that North Korea can reduce dependence on China and become more stable. The international community including the United States may also accept the situation. The past Korean reform had been carried out by the small scale test, but have been unable to give up control of the state economy, they worry that the reform will enable the Pyongyang regime does not exist.

This situation is likely to change? Maybe. North Korea has appointed a support economic reform in China's prime minister, indicating that North Korea might be tempted to do some attempts in this aspect. But in the short term, the possible situation, China and the United States will reassure North Korea, and promised will take some measures to cooperate, and then see the next situation.

It's all good saying the 2 Korea's should or can unite but it will all boil down to what the North will be thinking .J.W.Bushes speech about the axis of evil I think will be a big part of what or how they do things in the north and this is what makes the whole thing unpredictable . I am interested in what our Chinese friends think about this and by the way welcome it is good to hear from the other side of the fence.

To be honest up until at least the 1980's there is a good chance the United States would have wanted to put military in North Korea. Since then, there is really no point. There is no need. We have plenty of a military presence, and
while we still have differences with China, we also have common interests.

May they continue to grow.

If you haven't noticed from the people posting here, the USA does not have ambitions in that region. Indochina taught many here that lesson. It has even been suggested to have joint military exercises. Cooperation is a good thing.

The issues between our countries are primarily economic and not territorial. Economic issues can be talked out and at times we may have to agree to disagree. The problems stem in part from agreements like Kyoto that treat our two countries differently and from our perspective are not fair and equal.

There is also the issue of the apparently state-sponsored industrial spying via computer intrusions in addition to the regular means. It is a dangerous game, in its own way as dangerous as the bellicose rhetoric from North Korea. The danger comes that some mid-level person who has the ability to punch a button but no authorization to do so, will, by accident or on purpose. The more it is done the more mid-level types have a chance to error and eventually it will happen. The results could easily be a world wide catastrophe.

Additionally the issue of intellectual property rights looms large, which your country is beginning to address. This is good and even likely good for yourselves as you implement other changes.

While a lot of noise is made over human rights, it is mostly to satisfy our internal critics and we could improve in that area too. It is only the most egregious examples that garner any action here and usually only very mild things are done if the big picture is looked upon. I realize that calling attention to them as the west does may run counter to the save face culture of Asia, but that is a cultural difference, something each side must learn to live with, but not a fundamental one.

As to the fear of westernization, is that a rational fear? Or, is that some misplaced paranoia that the people in power have as they don't think they would have power after westernization? If it was best for China, should they not embrace it? If it is inevitable, should they not guide it there to make it as painless as possible? In any case, I don't presume to tell China what course is best for China. If the fear is that Westernization looks so much better to the common man in China, sorry our advertising works, counter it by making your system look better. Some advice, you can't do that only with a stick, you must do it by dangling carrots where occasionally some can be grabbed. Perhaps your permission of capitalism is a first step in this direction. This shows us you are not Nikita Khrushchev pounding his shoe on the desk and saying "We will bury you." I think we both know where such bellicose rhetoric leads, which is why China is concerned with it coming from North Korea.

There is a saying, keep your friends close, your enemies closer. Add time and you may find they were never an enemy, put perhaps only a friendly rival you misunderstood.

Although our two countries will have many contradictions in the trade issues, it must be admitted that, only two countries to cooperate to win-win situation, but if a nation in the military, no fear, then this country can not be placed in jeopardy. China has suffered too much misery and invasion in 1950, eighty million people in China died nearly 100 years of war. China's territory has been like a piece of fat meat to attract foreign powers, you know in China before 1950 the concession of "Chinese and dogs not allowed"? China can't guard against the west, although our cooperation than competition. Our people are relatively pro-Western, but we always is a set thousands of years of history, we must insist on their own, we always need to North Korea this barrier, which is why we can't let the outbreak of the Korean war cannot let him continue to develop nuclear weapons.
