All Around

Well, I've seen the seven world wonders,
Growing to a man's fate.

You don't have to hold on to me anymore,
For I will be forgotten in your mind,
As you think it.

Reversed reality, holding on to the past
Of its infinite future.

Oh, and that's all there's left
In the right mind, with the right soul,
Left in the fleshless body
With the right mind.

Oh, let me talk to strangers,
Let me talk to God,
Let me talk to the void..

And cherish your names,
You hold so dear.

Don't come crying on my shoulder,
As I will not be there.

I will be all around,
Oh all around.

Will we wait for wonders, wandering
All around wuthering waste?

Well, I've seen the seven world wonders,
Growing to a man's waste.

I will be there, oh all around,
Well, all around.

My Candle Was Not Lit

Christmas Eve, with friends, all 'round.
Familiar music stirred the soul.
And, yet, the virus came around,
to cast me, yet, into the cold.

"Merry Christmas", I did wish,
to friends at church; they understood.
Back home, I went, as I did miss --
the chance to share a flame, that would. . .

bind all our hopes, for common good.
With second chance, perhaps we could?

Mine To Keep

There's no smoke
In my garden.

There's no water
In my sink.

My flowers are blooming
On my sill.

I'll catch your eye
With my rolling pin.

Breathe for me, the air
That is pure and sweet.

There's no smoke
In my thoughts.

There's no water
In my iron lung.

The room is filled with
The rainbow colors,
Coming from my soul.

I'll catch your words
In my little black book.

Dance for me, on the music
That is mine to keep.

Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time,
The story was told
Until the last page,
Without a new beginning.

Looking for a new book,
I stumbled upon some lost children,
Crying for the grace they never received.

No compassion has been shown for their broken hearts.

Who is that big brown man who does all of this to them?
Who is that big brown man, playing with the restless heads of confused people?

Is he a playboy?

Once upon a time,
Small men fought for their rights,
Looking to comfort their crying children,
Lost in the dark woods of existence.

Why don't we love each other?
Why do we even bother?

If that big brown man were listening,
I'd tell him to be a bit nicer to the good folks
That cry for him.

If that big brown man were listening,
I'd tell him to work on a new story.

Once upon a time, the big brown men listened
To what I said and everyone was saved.

Oonah

Once there was a way to get back home,
Where I could sing you a lullaby,
And to your pretty white horses,
I would sing the song of salvation.

Don't you cry, no don't you cry,
My darling Oonah, I will be by your side
And over here, I will give up the fight.
I'll follow the angels around you,
And you know, they love you too.

You are my sunshine in the darkest night,
And as you glow, I don't keep you out of my sight,
Till you fly to that eternal light.
My darling Oonah, you are so precious,
And over here, they're all so vicious.

Don't you cry, no don't you cry,
I'll sing you this lullaby
And greet you in the sky,
And to the angels around you,
I will sing the song of salvation.

Your eyes were ones of the deepest oceans,
The world, well the world would have drowned in them.
Your heart was one of the bluest skies,
The world, well the world would've shone to it.

Your soul belongs to the angels
Because you are one of them.
And once you found a way
To get back home.

To Be Free

I want to see blue skies
Above my head,
Where freedom lies,
And love never dies.

I want to see your face
And your big blue eyes.
I want to touch your lips,
With my lips and find the words
You would say, before they were lead astray.
I would feel you close to me
And be whomever I want to be.

To be free, to be free..

Send me to the heavens above,
Where the smallest being finds love,
Where there's no fighting
Over peace with the dove.
Where no one abuses my grace,
Where accurate intelligence
Thrives all over the place.

To be free, to be free..

Wait for me, oh wait for me
By the flowers that were meant to be.
See the snow melting in your big blue eyes,
Before they would lead astray
And find the dead cigarette in my ashtray.
I'd wait for something to say..

To be free, to be free,
To be free..

Our King Said

97 house maids were waiting
To get painted on the canvas
Of oil and blood.

Oi Lori!
What's your morning story?

Love is the hardest thing to do..

Is it the shadow I hold
Or the light you wear,
That tears us apart?
Asked the Sunking
To the restless boy,
Trying to find a bedtime story
For his 97 house maids..

And for one point day,
The planet's crumbled,
Just 'cause someone sneezed,
Avoiding his own bedtime story.

Hit them!
Love your children!

Don't get too low,
Don't get too high,
Stay right in the middle
And feel the sky,
Said the Sunking
To the restless boy,
Who found a bedtime story
For his 97 house maids..

The incentive for this poem, has come from tonight's news, about the impact the US
Government's shutdown is having on the poorer citizenry. . .

Is There Another FDR?

When the uncaring insanity,
in Washington, D.C.,
should end,

it might take another FDR,
to New Deal,
amends.

The question, for everyone:
Does he exist?

Some Company

I'm so alone,
I do need some company.

Why do I feel so alone?
I do need some company
In my back and in front of me.

I do need some company,
Singing the tune,
So sayeth Thee.

Let loneliness flow,
Reap what you sow.

Take for the Lord, a bow,
And lend it to Cupid,
In search for his arrow.

Some company in my back,
Singing the tune in front of me,
And I'm so alone..

I do need some company
In my back and in front of me.

Let loneliness flow,
Reap what you sow.

Take for the Lord, a bow,
And lend it to Cupid,
In search for his arrow.

I'm still alone,
But not lonely,
In need for some company.

My Worried Soul

As I lay down my eyes
And see the red rose in front of me,
My friends are whispering the song that will always be.

See the light in that dark corner?
It's waiting to be free.
It's waiting to light up the Multiverse
And stay forever with me.

Soon I'll go there too,
With the picture that you drew.

Looks just like him,
Even when the light is dim.

Tell me a story
And I'll smile
Before I cry
And start to weep again.
Before I crack some codes again,
While waiting to be me.

I want to hear your story
And find some morning glory,
As I search through the mist
For some secrets to unravel
To my worried soul,
When it starts its travel.

My friends are singing
The song that will always be.
To the light in the sky.
To my worried soul.

The Children From Planet Earth

The sun in my eyes
Made all of the lies
Worth believing.

From the flower on my table
And the bird in my garden,
To the people around me
And the children..

The children from planet earth,
Believing the wrong God,
Believing the wrong future,
Believing the wrong outcome of victory.

They know the truth..

The sun in their eyes
Made all of the lies
Worth believing.

The simplicity of life
Keeps itself hidden
Behind closed doors..

For the children from planet earth,
Believing the wrong God,
Believing the wrong future,
Believing the wrong outcome of victory.

They know the truth..
The children from planet earth know the truth.

Stand Pat

Drones swarm over the field.
Beer bubbles waft upwards,
to join them.
Hot dogs slathered in mustard and relish.

Oh, yes --

The game.

Pats vs Rams

What would make it even more interesting?

Change the rules --

Football into Rugby.

Can't be done?

Ask the White House.

Nancy in Wonderland

Off with their heads!
You're nothing but a deck of cards!
I'm late, for an important date!
Of walruses and kings.

A fairy story,
fit for a king. . .
and
all his followers.
And the Joker?

Let's applaud
the Joker.
Very important man.
Yes, indeed.

And, he even wears white makeup.
Very becoming --
for a Joker.

When will the real game begin?
When the cards are dealt,
once again.

I'm fine, Byron. I trust all is well, in Canada-land, with you.
I visited Victoria, BC, and Butchart Gardens, a few times, back in the '60's, when living in Seattle. Wonderful
experiences.
