In the darkest times Darkest fears are heard And from the safest places Come the bravest words Some make a quiet life To keep this Scared old world at bay The dogs are howling on the street outside So they close the curtains, hope they go away And it's pressure from all sides Coming down around our ears Stuck in this room without a door Scratched away at the walls for years All we've got to show is the dust on the floor And here it comes, a new dark age I catch your eyes Before they fall to the ground We're running out of time, breath and steam We're running down They're burning witches Up on punishment hill Dying proof in the power of authority To exact it's will And we've broken our fingers Broken our faith Broken our hearts so many times They can't be broken anymore Scratched away at the walls for years All we've got to show is the dust on the floor And here it comes, a new dark age Here it comes… The Sound rOZZ Music Pictures |

Just don't forget, Julie. The Renaissance had its birth, in part, in Belgium. Out of the ashes, came beautiful music. |

I agree with Julie, but consider another scene -- Spring Contrasts Sunshine illuminates the gravel on the country road, with a line of chartreuse-bedecked willows walling off a dark incoming wave of clouds. Spring's contrasts, confirming children's familiar spring-time songs, with Red-winged Blackbirds providing the notes. Not a soul on the road, except the solitary traveler. Too early, for the mosquitos to quicken the walker's pace. Perhaps, an incentive to drive to the seashore, the next day. A change of pace, from meadow and marsh, to familiar roar and rush assaulting the land. Wheeling birds' plaintive calls -- A different scene, with different memories. * * jm 16 Apr 15 |

A Remarkable Cake Mixed into a cake were an infinite variety of ingredients. But, the only purpose, for the cake, was seen in the frosted words, on top: Happy Birthday! * jm 3/06/15 |

Driverless Car Troubleshooting Hello, my name is Jay. How may I help you? My car has stopped on Highway 128. Where is Highway 128? In Massachusetts, USA. Is the engine running? Yes! Please power it off, then on. * Are you still there? I'm stuck in the high-speed lane! Have you restarted your car? Yes! Is the engine, again, running? Yes, but there is no forward movement! What is the revision number of your car's firmware? * It appears to be out-of-date. * You will have to have a new download, to enable forward movement. * The nearest transmitter which can download the latest revision is located approximately fifteen miles south of your present location. You will need to be within five miles of that location, to receive the update. * Have I been helpful in solving your problem? * * * * jm 15 June 2015 |

ROSICRUCIAN UTOPIA God of all beings,God of all life, In humanity we are dreaming of: • Politicians are profoundly humanistic and strive to serve the common good; • Economists manage state finances with discernment and in the interest of all; • Scientists are spiritualistic and seek their inspiration in the Book of Nature; • Artists are inspired and express the beauty and purity of the Divine Plan in their works; • Physicians are motivated by love for their community and treat both the soul and the body; • Misery and poverty have vanished, for everyone has what one needs to live happily; • Work is not regarded as a chore; it is looked at as a source of growth and well-being; • Nature is considered to be the most beautiful temple of all, and animals are considered to be our brothers and sisters on the path of evolution; • A World Government composed of the leaders of all nations, working in the interest of all humanity, has come into existence; • Spirituality is an ideal and a way of life, which springs forth from a Universal Religion, founded more upon the knowledge of divine laws than upon the belief in God; • Human relations are founded upon love, friendship, and community, so that the whole world lives in peace and harmony. Your comments and poem, have encouraged, yet, another, Julie. . . Pauses II A short, deep, two-toned song. A companion's bell, accompanies. Thick fog justifies the night-time duet. Mournful, yet reassuring. Intoning someone's concern. A duet, with pauses, as if to listen for a reply -- A reply, from someone who is grateful. * * jm 16 June 15 |

There is a brief ending to, Pauses II -- I initially left it up to the reader to attach. Now, perhaps, it would be better to add its conclusion. Again, it's only my conclusion; you, the reader, might have your own. Feel free. . . * Pauses II . . . But, if no pauses are made, it will never be known, if anyone is grateful. * * * jm 05 July 2015 |

31,709 "hits" on DPC thread. Where are the readers coming from? Not The New Yorker, certainly. Should we poets feel guilty, about not turning out more expose's of our private lives? Perhaps, I'll get some inspiration, after watching tomorrow eve's Presidential Debate. (The next poem might have to be entered under "Politics", who knows?) |
