Yes. They has been analyzed. All bug reports are weird (stack handling problem, process context problems ???). In one of bug reports SIGILL (illegal instruction) encountered (???) in place where is legal instruction. May be bug catching doesnt work properly. In the most cases, one of registers points to text '<resume/>' and PC (program counter) is corrupted. Likely your libraries (or OS) might have problems with signal handling on native code (this is only mu suspects). I recommend to check available OS updates for your device (likely this is real reason of segfaults, sigills). Are you using stock Android version? I have big problems to check where is problem these cases :(. |

I think I found part of the problem. Most crashes occur when the app suspends / resumes a task. I did not want my phone getting too hot, so I set it to suspend when the battery temp reached 30c. Trouble is that at night even when I'm not using it, running certain tasks would cause it to go over 30c. So it would suspend and resume all night long. This is when most of the errors took place. By setting it to run constantly, it seemed to run smoothly...albeit a little hot. You will be assimilated...bunghole! |

you could always put it in the refigerator to keep it cool In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Oh and another thing I've noticed. I just upgraded to a Galaxy Note 2, with a quad-core chip. At full tilt, the wall charger simply cannot provide enough juice to keep the phone at 100% while running BOINC on all four cores. Still, running one or two cores is better than nothing. Running fewer cores helps keep the temp down too. You will be assimilated...bunghole! |

I've also just started running it on a Galaxy Note 2. Says I've accumulated 106 credits on this device. I've always rotated 3 batteries so have never had power problems. One in the Note, one in my wallet ready as a replacement, and one on my wall charger at home. The batteries get rotated every day and I have a continuous wire-free Note. I tested the temperature with the Note 2 in my pocket, and then with my Ioic case, also in my pocket. There was no appreciable difference in temperature and neither was there any indication of my Note 2 overheating with Boinc running on all four cores. [edit] Hang on, I've only been running on 2 cores. So far so good, but trying out on 4 cores now [/edit] flaming balloons |

I've just installed this on my HTC Desire Z. It's connected to the project okay, as it's showing the correct credit and RAC, however the first entry in the messages tab says: "Message from server: This project doesn't support computers of type arm-android-linux-gnu" Any suggestions? I've just installed this on my HTC Desire Z. What have you just installed? If you just installed NativeBoinc, you just add Boinc project, and it'll add the right apps and app_info, or you can add other projects, but if you add a project that that has no Stock apps, then you'll get that message. If you installed the Official Boinc, then you can only run projects that have Stock apps, (unless you root your mobile to get access to the project directory), Seti has no Android or Arm Stock apps. My apologies, i was very vague. I've installed NativeBoinc on the phone, gave it my Seti credentials, it connected to the project, gave me that message, but did download the logos and banners image files. Now it's just sat there with no tasks. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Rebooted the phone and it seems to have fixed itself. 123 hours estimated time, curious to see how long it actually takes. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

OK, what's the current minimalist recipe to get this running? My Asus Transformer is mostly sitting idle since I got the Nexus 7, so it'd be interesting to see how it compares to my Atom-powered netbook. (I've lost a few machines lately, to the heat and to other projects, so every little bit helps!) |

Very straightforward: download NativeBOINC, attach to SETI project. NativeBOINC will do all the rest including custom app ownloading and corresponding app_info.xml creation. Also you could attach to SETI beta (NativeBOINC doesn't recognise this project so one should press "other project" twice and enter project url manually after that. NativeBOINC will connect to project and download stock app from beta server. SETI apps news We're not gonna fight them. We're gonna transcend them. |

Very straightforward: Thanks, I did manage to figure it out once I found the website -- it's a bit better organised than the software I have to work with on a daily basis... No problems on my Nexus 7 but mostly problems on my Transformer. It keeps coming up "no projects installed" and then can't find s@h in its list of projects. Uninstall, try again... I did get it working once but then I noticed a typo in the host-name; changed that and again "no projects installed". I'll try again over the weekend. |

Rebooted the phone and it seems to have fixed itself. It took 43 hours 25 minutes, so the timing's a little off but otherwise functional. Also found that by setting it to use 90% of processor time, it stopped cutting in and out as the phone overheated, as it did on 100%. A rough translation Do I understand correctly that all of WU for Android switched to SETI beta, and the main project, SETI@home, they will no longer be? From here the second question: it temporarily or permanently? Before a job normally left to the main project. Rebooted the phone and it seems to have fixed itself. For comparison, my Pentium III-S 1.4GHz CPU takes about 28 hours to complete a SAH v7 task. |

It is simply a matter of having an application that is compatible with your platform.
