Some tax money goes to infrastructure, a lot more goes to defence (including paying the bills for Iraq and Afghanistan), some goes to subsidies for the corporates and agriculture, some to welfare, some to internal security and some goes into a black hole (and maybe the last two are actually the same bucket).

Not all government spending is bad but then not all of it is good either, to state that it is all good or all bad is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. The system IS corrupt and the liberals vs conservatives thing is just a distraction to cover up the fact that both sides of politics are equally guilty.

All politics are local. So, I believe that all taxes should be local. I have to loop a dollar in and out of D.C. for education. That same dollar now much less gets looped in my state capital too. My local school is lucky to see 30 cents of that dollar.

If my property tax is to pay for my school, that tax should go to the county treasurer and he/she makes an accounting as to what my local needs. MY WHOLE DOLLAR goes to the school this way.
