I know and understand the science behind this phenomena, but I can not resist standing outdoors for several hours in sub-zero temps to try to catch some images of the Aurora.

The linked time lapse is not my work. On this night, March 16-17, I was about 120 miles to the west. I was outside for 8 hours shooting and just watching.
